The Information Technology team equips our colleagues with the latest tools to complete their work efficiently and with the highest standards of excellence. The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance.

About the role

As Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solutions Engineering Director, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to transform our IAM program with an in-depth knowledge of IAM tools, technologies, processes and best practices. Your responsibilities will encompass leading the IAM transformation, staying abreast of emerging trends, overseeing day-to-day IAM operations, managing the overall IAM strategic roadmap, executing related activities, and ensuring the appropriate implementation of architecture and design for our IAM technology landscape.

This role will report directly to the Head of Identity and Access Management and act as the senior IAM representative in discussions with both internal and external partners on all matters relating to IAM Transformation and efficiency gains as outcomes from the strategy.

Leadership and Governance

  • Lead the collaboration with other IT and Business functions including Technology Architecture and Employee Services on behalf of IAM.
  • Lead and demonstrate consistent values and common goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, technology teams and vendors.
  • Develop and lead a high-performance team of security professionals, providing coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills.

Transformation

  • Evaluate, select and implement IAM technologies to meet business requirements and security standards.
  • Integrate IAM solutions with various systems, applications, and directories to provide seamless and secure access.
  • Lead the design, implementation and execution of IAM projects.
  • Provide expert level architectural support for AIG’s IAM platform services with the deep understanding of Identity Access Management, Privileged Access Management, and Advanced Authentication.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise for complicated environments including detailed analysis for IAM solutions.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement secure IAM solutions, based on approved enterprise security architectures.
  • Maintain and oversee comprehensive documentation of IAM architectures, designs, and implementation details.
  • Research and bring forward industry best practices that could benefit the enterprise.

Audit and Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, SOX, GDPR, FISMA, PCI, FICA etc.
  • Partner with controls team to help maintain IAM audit controls to align with AIG standards ensuring on-time testing completion and submission for controls.
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to identity and access management, staying current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain awareness of current IAM strategy, solutions and related shortcomings (if any) in order to incorporate these in defining strategic priorities and roadmap.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • 10+ year’s experience architecting, administering, and supporting Identity Management solutions with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IAM technologies, including access control, identity proofing, and identity governance and administration.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP IAM concepts including SSO, Directory Services and other relevant technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of Cloud and On-Prem Directory and Identity systems such as Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta workforce identity, CyberArk, UNIX, Mainframe, and other relevant IAM systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of modern Authentication methods, standards, and protocols such as Single Sign On SAML, SCIM, Oauth, OpenID, Kerberos, LDAP, RADIUS, FIDO2, OTP, PIV, and other relevant mechanisms.
  • Experience managing IAM projects, including design, implementation and execution.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, FISMA, PCI, HIPAA, SOX, FICA, etc.
  • Understanding of business processes associated with identity and access management lifecycle and ability to design and implement solutions that meet complex business requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop solutions.

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $180,000 - $205,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
