JOB TITLE: 

Program Coordinator - Outreach Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

The Outreach Coordinator for the Wyoming Conservation Corps will oversee the recruiting, hiring, documentation, and public engagement of the Wyoming Conservation Corps. This position requires excellent time management skills, organization, and communication. The individual filling this position will be expected to work collaboratively with program staff to recruit, hire, and train AmeriCorps members, and manage the reporting requirements from AmeriCorps and ServeWyoming. This position will operate as the co-administrator of all crews, underneath the Sr. Project Coordinator of the WCC. WCC expects this position to actively engage the community on the UW campus and utilize support services in Wyoming to create an all-encompassing experience for the members. 

This position is 70% in the office and 30% in field. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and execute recruitment strategies/events for all positions within WCC.
  • Build partnerships and opportunities for outreach within local and national community.
  • Generate marketing materials with guidance from Institutional Marketing Department
  • Manage all social media accounts including but not limited to WCC website, blog, Facebook and Instagram
  • Assist in instructing ENR4950. This includes scheduling the class, revising the syllabus, and co-instructing with staff.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator with education days for conservation crews in the field.
  • Responsible for daily and weekly documentation of activities for program participants.
  • Facilitate and maintain volunteer opportunities outside of summer projects. 
  • While on-site with crews in the field give each crew leader and crew member time to check in for discussion about goings-on with the crew and the work being completed; address any issues that may arise and take appropriate action for the situation.
  • Approve hours of participants in the program.
  • Manage AmeriCorps trainings for all program participants.
  • Assist program staff with other day to day tasks as well as long term planning.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: : Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing and or Environment/Natural Resource Field. 

Experience: 1 year work-related experience in Conservation Corps, Marketing, Public Relations or Related Field 

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver’s license is required 

Successful completion of all background checks 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience pertaining to Conservation Corps and or AmeriCorps 
  • Outdoor leadership or equivalent experience/certifications
  • S212 Chainsaw certification
  • Wilderness first responder certification
  • Experience with outreach and marketing
  • Experience with recruitment strategies
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Experience developing and implementing trainings for members and staff
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
