JOB TITLE: ESO and AESF MANAGER

LOCATION: KFOR HQ, PRISTINA

Information on KFOR/the Job position

The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin. KFOR is part of the wider international effort to build peace and stability in the area. HQ KFOR is based in Film City, Pristina.

Camp NOVO SELO (CNS) Command and Control (C2) Element manages the real life support for national contingents deployed in this camp as part of KFOR mission. This includes also the safe storage of ammo and explosives each contingent is nationally provided for the mission.

Within the Camp Novo Selo (CNS) C2 element, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and efficient management of all ammunition/explosives related processes within CNS.

The organisation is looking for a candidate who is able to adhere to internal policies and procedures with a meticulous personality and ability to maintain social, organizational and ethical norms in job-related activities. The incumbent needs to willingly participate as a team member of which the jobholder is not necessarily a leader being an effective contributor even when the team is working on something of not personal interest.

The Essential and Desirable education, experience and skills requirements are:

Junior College diploma in military science or management/business administration/engineering obtained within an accredited military or civil institution after 3 years of study with advanced and certified vocational training in the management of military ammo/explosives safety processes

Four (4) year experience in a field environment dealing with safe and efficient management of ammo/explosives related processes.

Minimum one (1) Tour of Duty or one (1) year accomplished employment contract in a NATO/Coalition led deployed operation.

Consolidated and demonstrable professional experience as staff officer and/or ammo holding area manager/supervisor in either a national or international military organization

Desirable:

University degree in military science or management/business administration/engineering obtained within an accredited military or civil institution after 3-5 years of study and certified vocational training as Ammunition Technical Officer (ATO)

Certified training on NATO Explosives Safety and Munition Risk Management related matters

Certified international training in ammo/explosives safety/security

Equivalent education for an OF-2/3 military rank.

(Military) Driving License B Category

Any previous employment as a Lead/Force Explosives Safety Officer (ESO) is an asset.

Language Skills: very good level of English language. 

Information on Employment Conditions (this is provided as a guide only and is not meant to be an exhaustive list)

This position is a Mission Civilian (MCIV) level 4 position. The post holder will work in Camp Novo Selo, Novo Selo, Kosovo.

The starting salary for MCIV-4 is 5,401.00 € per month (exempt from local taxation).

Other employment benefits include:

  • Affiliation to a Group Medical Insurance Scheme (premiums shared between employee/employer).
  • Addition amount of 12% of the basic pay paid by organization for personal pension obligations, plans, and/or schemes.
  • 30 days annual leave per calendar year
  • Up to 7 Special leave days
  • Up to 11 days Official/National holidays.
  • An installation allowance equal to one month’s salary (eligible if opting to stay outside of the camp, and 50% to be reimbursed if not completing two consecutive years of service).
  • A removal allowance equal to one month’s salary, after having completed at least one year of consecutive service, unless removal expenses are reimbursed by any other source.
  • Travel Expenses paid to take up duty / end of tour from/to your permanent residence.

Before any appointment is confirmed, the preferred candidate will be required to obtain a NATO Security Clearance and to successfully pass a medical examination certifying fitness to work.

The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract which may be renewed yearly up to a maximum period of six years and subject to satisfactory performance and the continued operational need/funding for the position.
