Overview of the team 

The EMEA Thought Leadership team is a very high-profile team, mostly based in London, but with members working in other European IQVIA locations. The primary purpose of the team is to develop and present IQVIA’s perspective on key industry issues that affect our clients, whether in the Life Sciences industries or in healthcare policy and provision. Our client audience is predominantly EMEA, both global, regional and local headquarters, but our subject matter is global, and covers a wide range of topics of crucial significance to the industry, from the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the next ten years, to the impact of the financial crisis on healthcare, the rise of biosimilars, the crisis of innovation, and the direction of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. The Thought Leadership team creates points of view which enable IQVIA to meet with senior executives and leaders to build relationships and business. Our work is disseminated in white papers, published articles, and face to face meetings. Our team consists of experienced senior individuals who have worked in healthcare/Life Sciences industry for many years, together with analysts and consultants at earlier stages of their careers in the pharmaceutical industry, and with backgrounds from consulting, clinical development, and business analysis. 

POSITION PURPOSE 

Leads thought leadership development for the vertical of real-world evidence (RWE) and pricing and market access (PMA) and acts as the principal thought leadership point person on those topics for the IQVIA business. Responsible for generating internal and external awareness of new thought leadership content related to RWE and PMA to maximise its impact, by engaging closely with the relevant IQVIA business, account teams and marketing. Responsible for delivering impactful client presentations to turn thought leadership content into business opportunities for IQVIA. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

In close collaboration with the relevant IQVIA business, esp. Real World Solutions and Consulting, identifies high priority issues for the pharmaceutical industry related to RWE and PMA to shape the thought leadership agenda for those topics. Designs, structures and develops a compelling point of view on priority RWE and PMA issues aligned with the thought leadership agenda, documented in various formats, e.g., white papers, reports or client presentations. 

Delivers impactful client presentations of thought leadership content to open doors for engagement by account teams and generate business opportunities for IQVIA. Proactively identifies follow-on engagement and business opportunities. Is a fluent and impressive presenter who has strong credibility with clients. 

Generates internal and external awareness of new thought leadership content to maximise its impact, by engaging closely with the relevant IQVIA business, account teams and marketing. 

Becomes the subject matter expert on RWE and PMA trends for the thought leadership team. Proactively expands his/her knowledge of the latest pharmaceutical industry and healthcare trends, related to RWE/PMA and beyond. 

Provides direction and guidance to Analysts, Consultants, Senior Consultants within the Thought leadership team and the relevant IQVIA business, as appropriate. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Master’s degree with demonstrated related Real World Evidence and/or Pricing and Market Access experience in consulting, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry. Possesses solid project management skills and client influencing and relationship building skills. 

EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS 

Essential experience 

Between 5-10 years’ previous experience of working in, or consulting for, the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries with experience in Pricing and Market access and/or Real World Evidence is essential, as is a strong analytic skillset, the ability to create professionally presented, well-structured and clear Word documents and PowerPoint decks, and subject matter expertise in Real World Evidence and Pricing and Market Access. 

The experience may have been gained in one of the following environments: 

  • Pharmaceutical or other Healthcare Industry; 
  • Academic Organisation; 
  • Health Technology Assessment Group; 
  • Health Services Research. 
  • Professional service firm 

Interest in, and desire to learn more about, the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. 

Strong numeracy and data analysis skills, and able to work fast and accurately with different types of databases. 

Curiosity and strong critical thinking to interpret, critique and contextualise data and trends analyses and provide novel insight in the development of relevant presentations and reports. 

Additional Requirements 

Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals and is effective working in a matrix environment. Experienced with developing consultative relationships with senior level managers and executives at clients in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry. Ability to manage multiple projects, juggle priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
