As a UI/UX Designer at Generac, you will be responsible for creating intuitive and engaging digital experiences across our mobile and web products. You will work closely with other designers and cross-functional teams to understand user and business needs, conduct user research and testing, and translate insights into intuitive design solutions. The ideal candidate is an empathetic and highly collaborative person with a strong understanding of user-centered design and interface design best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver high-quality UI/UX designs for digital products that align with customer needs while ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Conduct user research, such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gain valuable insights into user behaviors, pain points, and preferences. 
  • Develop user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts and interactions.
  • Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders and communicate design rationale.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and business analysts to understand product requirements and translate them into design solutions.
  • Work closely with development teams to confirm feasibility, facilitate a seamless design handoff, and ensure developed features match design specifications.
  • Contribute to the establishment and implementation of design guidelines, style guides, and design systems to ensure product quality and consistency across various digital experiences. 

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional UI/UX design experience.
  • A relevant design portfolio showcasing your work is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of UI/UX design experience.
  • Experience designing for mobile applications.
  • Experience working with design systems.
  • Experience conducting user research and/or usability testing.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to create design system components and patterns in Figma.
  • Familiarity with Maze (User Research Platform).
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in design and prototyping with Figma.
  • A user-centric mindset and understanding of user-centered design process.
  • Familiarity with user research and/or usability testing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to iterate on designs based on feedback.
  • Time management and organizational skills to balance multiple projects.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Openness to continuously share and receive feedback.
