Position Summary

The Intercompany Accounting Lead is responsible for the quality and delivery of Intercompany Center of Excellence (COE) for all of Bridgestone Americas. Activities include, but not limited to: compliance with intercompany policy, corporate reporting schedules, controls, audit remediation, and ongoing controller / Financial Director support. Lead process improvement from project concept to execution, using analytical skills, lean six sigma, standardization and automation tools. Candidate should be able to identify issues, identify correction needed and implement solution end to end. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, controls, and company policies. Ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of broader RTR goals and KPI targets. Candidate is responsible to business units for accurate intercompany reporting and can use items like dashboard with intercompany out of balances, Blackline reconciliations, and open items reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting. Long terms goals of the position include supervisory responsibilities over team to execute all facets of intercompany activity; therefore, candidate must be able to develop and coach team members for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Summary of total monthly BSAM intercompany out of balance and provide trend reporting to Finance management team; assist with follow up needed to resolve aged reconciling items; provide coordination and resolution for ongoing issues.
  • Ownership of BSAM consolidation intercompany reconciliations including: approvals of 190 US based reconciliations & 100 LA based reconciliations each month; assist preparers with follow up needed on aged reconciling items.
  • Ownership of Bridgestone Japan affiliated intercompany reconciliations including: approvals of 55 US based reconciliations & 25 LA based reconciliations each month; assist preparers with follow up needed on aged reconciling items.
  • Ownership of Tech & TM ledger entries process in US: completion of 6 monthly journals; 2 reconciliations with Bridgestone Japan; monitoring receivables and cash applications needed for Tech & TM receivables in US; ongoing coordination needed with US Tax Department.
  • Ensure completion of quarterly schedules reporting BSAM entities balances with BSJ entities which include: intercompany sales, ending intercompany balances, YTD purchases.
  • Facilitate and monitor all expected cash settlements for completion and accuracy including transactions across US LLCs; between US and LA countries; between US and Bridgestone Japan affiliated intercompany.
  • Complete balance confirmations needed annually with external audit partner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from accredited university, CPA or equivalent preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field / in a large complex multi-national organization
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards
  • SAP and Blackline experience PREFERRED
