Our Role

.

As a Director, Senior Product Owner of the ICAAP Solutions, you will own the development and operation of a toolset (SCB AG ICAAP tooling) designed to support the sustainable growth of Standard Chartered’s European bank (SCB AG), supporting decision making and meeting regulatory obligations. The product you will own is this toolset which is used by SCB AG Treasury to generate forecasts of the SCB AG capital and liquidity situation and is not a product offered to clients. 

You will have a direct impact on Bank’s risk and capital management, with a strong modelling and forecasting component. In your work you will leverage wealth of SCB Group solutions as well as consulting support to drive fit-for-purpose toolkit, aligned with local German obligations BaFin, Bundesbank and ECB capital adequacy assessment requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring all agreed business benefits are delivered and will be able to establish an effective governance model to achieve it. You will closely collaborate with Group Treasury Modelling & Platforms team, leveraging best practise and exploring possible synergies. You will be skilled in Python and R development and experienced in delivering solutions to clients. 

This is a dynamically evolving area, following a rapid expansion of SCB AG and its branch in Poland. Further opportunities will follow to support wider development of SCB AG Treasury & Finance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Align to Group’s strategy for development of similar tooling.
  • Meet relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the team who run the SCB AG ICAAP tooling.
  • Develop and manage a team to develop the tooling and execute the associated processes.
  • Ensuring all relevant risk management requirements are met, including IT security, and traceability of data.
  • Work with the wider Treasury Modelling and Platforms team to ensure alignment of visions and tooling.

Our Ideal Candidate 

  • 10+ years proven experience & knowledge in capital planning and/or stress testing in banks or consultancy.
  • Working knowledge Bundesbank and ECB ICAAP requirements.
  • Familiarity with credit risk, interest rate risk and other market risks in a bank / financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet structure, financial data, liquidity metrics. 
  • Experience navigating through complex system setup / data sources reconciliation to perform business analytics. 
  • Good Python and R skills to deliver solutions to clients. 
  • Experience defining product requirements and develop roadmap based on functional expertise.
  • Ability to synthesis complex facts / details into short and precise information, with the right balance of technical vs business communication.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams to deliver objectives.
  • Experience in working in multicultural teams, mentoring team members and providing regular feedbacks. 
  • Good knowledge of design thinking frameworks, user stories and customer journeys.
  • Confident and skilled at identifying and navigating through roadblocks and impediments.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills covering operational / management levels.
  • Ability to recommend proposals to senior management on how to take multiple initiatives forward.
  • Be pragmatic, weight competing priorities and strive for optimal balance between quality of delivery and effort/time spent. 
  • Ability to take an integrated approach; work through ambiguity to recommend high-level decisions based on business materiality and best available information. 
  • Proactively think through and identify area of risks, propose, and execute mitigation plan to the management and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile setup, multi-cultural team, and wide range of stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years experience in Agile delivery (preferably as Product Owner)
  • Scrum Master, Product Owner certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
  • CertBALM / Chartered accountant / CFA equivalent designation is a plus.
  • Exposure to business / data architecture principles and methods
