Job Purpose

Contribute to design and lead implementation of Finance and Accounting strategy in the country to maintain short and long-term financial health, and partner, advise and challenge the management team in line with country business strategy, financial policies, legal framework and accounting standards

Key Tasks

  • Participates in the definition of the of actions linked to the Finance and Accounting strategy for country including all financial management services, planning, analysis, reporting and budgets considering country business strategy, financial policies, legal framework and accounting standards
  • Lead, plan, organize and deliver Finance and Accounting initiatives, services and processes to achieve financial transparency, maintain short and long-term financial health, and advise the management team
  • Professional leader, line and budget manager for finance function with high focus on operational finance activities of the country
  • Provide guidance and consulting on financial matters to senior business team, drawing on specialist colleagues as needed
  • Provide financial management and controlling services to specific business area(s) of medium scale/ complexity
  • Ensure financial service delivery, process improvement, implementation of financial changes
  • Resolve complex and more difficult controlling issues such as adjusting for taxes, VAT, varying local legal requirements, etc.
  • Maintain vendor/ service relationship and service level agreements with specific business unit/ partner for various financial services
  • Develop and implement improvements in existing financial processes, systems and methods for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency
  • Active member of country Country Management Board
  • Responsible for financial statements health as per local legislation
  • Ensure compliance with DHL policies and procedures for the safeguarding of assets, proper, accurate and timely submission of the country’s financial records
  • Provides accurate and timely management reports to the country Board and Group to ensure appropriate decision-making, business planning and analysis whilst ensuring effective control and forecasting
  • Provides variance analysis and narratives when necessary in order to alert financial issues, trends and opportunities

  • Negotiate critical agreements/contracts 3rd parties
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DPDHL and partner organizations
  • Influence others across DPDHL and externally as an internally and externally recognized thought leader representing the Group

Qualifications & Key Requirements

Education Level

  • University degree
  • Professional accountancy qualification
  • Recognized degree of qualification in accounting (diploma of higher economic education, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of Kazakh legislation (accounting and tax accounting).
  • Good analytical knowledge with the ability to show initiative and business skills.
  • PC software user working with Windows, MS Excel, SUN Accounts, SAP.

Experience Level

  • more than 8 years in finance field
  • experience at senior level in a service oriented business – preferred
