Overview:

The incumbent in this position will perform experimental and modeling research on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat transfer in Geothermal Drilling, as well as Carbon Transport and Injection applications. Prepare reports, papers for publication, and potentially assist with the development of experimental facilities.

Job duties for Postdoctoral Researcher:

Perform experimental and modeling research on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat transfer in Geothermal Drilling, as well as Carbon Transport and Injection applications. 

Prepare reports, papers for publication, and potentially assist with the development of experimental facilities.

Job duties for Senior Postdoctoral Researcher:

Independently perform advanced experimental and modeling research on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat transfer in Geothermal Drilling, as well as Carbon Transport and Injection applications. Assist graduate students on different research topics that are related to transient multiphase flow and heat transfer. 

Prepare scientifically meritorious research papers for publication in journals and conference proceedings. Give presentations to industry and federal funding agencies. Prepare scientifically meritorious research papers for publication in journals and conference proceedings. Assist with reports and presentations to industry and federal funding agencies. Develop contacts with industry in establishing new research collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications for Postdoctoral Researcher:

PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engr, Chemical Engr, Nuclear Engr or related degree with 0 years of experience. Specific experience: Terminal degree and related coursework in discipline/specialty area. Strong experience in computational modeling and simulation is a must. Good communication skills are required. Must have published in this field.

Preferred Qualifications for Postdoctoral Researcher:

PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engr, Chemical Engr, Nuclear Engr or related degree with 0 years of experience. Specific experience: Strong experience in computational modeling and simulation is a must. Good communication skills are required. Must have published in this field in archival journals. Experience in modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow is preferred. Candidates with research experience and solid publication records on the topics of modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow, and Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) are preferred.

PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engr, Chemical Engr, Nuclear Engr or related degree with 3 or more years of postdoctoral experience. Candidates with research experience and solid publication records on the topics of modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow, and Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) are preferred.
