Program Manager – Adolescent Programming

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager of Adolescent Programming at Rainbow Health plans, supervises, and oversees our Free to Be Program, a program focusing on connecting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adolescents to the high quality mental health care and access to services they need in any part of their life. This role facilitates the delivery of program services to clients, and focuses on continuous program improvements and/or expansion to respond to the changing needs of our clients. The Program Manager is also responsible for leading efforts within the team to set and meet organizational goals and deliverables required by our funders. The most successful candidate for this role will have established relationships within the communities we serve, be comfortable working within a program that will continue to change, and have strong people leadership/management skills. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitating the planning of program activities by having regular departmental meetings to discuss program needs and provide opportunity for staff to discuss and receive peer feedback on client interactions. 
  • Engaging department staff to identify trends they’re seeing with clients and communities Rainbow Health serves, and supporting department staff in achieving expectations for the program and deliverables to our funders. 
  • Managing the development and maintenance of up-to-date procedures and guidelines manual(s) for use in orientation and ongoing training of program staff to ensure continuity of operations resulting from staffing or process changes.
  • Directly supervising case managers and care coordinators. Partner with Clinic Administrator, Clinical Supervisors, and therapists on maintaining a client-focused care model. 
  • Reviewing service documentation (charting, form completion, chart auditing) and providing feedback to staff; shadowing and observing direct client service work during staff orientation or as appropriate and provides feedback to staff.
  • Developing annual goals for program areas with input from direct service staff and Clinic Administrator and then incorporating tasks into program operations in order to meet organizational goals. This may include exploring new partnerships in the community.
  • Assisting with contract management activities to understand contract requirements within the program area including client eligibility criteria, intervention methodologies, outcome goals, and tracking protocols.
  • Supporting the development of budgets for program activities, managing expenditures related to program activities to meet budget objectives and reviewing and approving monthly contract invoices before submitting to funders.
  • Performing other duties as required or assigned to support the agency and clients as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma. 
  • 4+ years of experience in direct services as a case manager, advocate counselor, mental health provider, or related professional role, including providing these services to adolescents and emerging adults. 
  • 2+ years in a formal or informal leadership position, directly supervising others; direct supervision in the mental health field preferred.
  • Previous experience in growing a new program, including reviewing, creating and/or monitoring budgets preferred.
  • Proficiency in a second language other than English.
  • Individuals with lived experience or a identifying as part of our target populations (Gay/Bi/MSM/Queer, Transgender, African American, multi-racial communities that are disproportionately impacted by HIV, HIV positive people, and those engaging in risk behaviors for HIV in individual and group settings) are encouraged to apply.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work for this role is currently being done in a hybrid format, but in-person work may be required for outreach work and organizational meetings. 
  • Employees working in person with clients or out of our offices are required to show proof of vaccination and attest to their vaccination status upon hire. Employees who are not vaccinated will be required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result once a week if working with clients or in our offices.
