Apply 7875 Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area Telecommunications Information Systems Officers (TISOs) act as information distributors, customer representatives, and operate, maintain, install and manage telecommunications facilities. TISOs also provide project management and systems integration for voice and data communication systems, supervise installation of these systems, and provide maintenance and support to customers after installation. Specializations include voice transmission, data communications, TCP-IP networks, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), COMSEC/TEMPEST, facsimile, cable-to-modem communication, RF (including satellite) communication capabilities, power systems, generators, digital/analog fault isolation and repair to least replaceable unit. Handling this variety of responsibilities requires good communication skills, a firm understanding of technical requirements, and an ability to work closely with other professionals. Physical Work Requirements: Duties of TISO officers include being able to single-handedly deploy up to 45-pound communications systems and being prepared for prolonged use of destruction equipment (e.g., sledge-hammers, nail guns, disintegrators, and degaussers) and removal of equipment from racks (e.g. servers weighing up to 75 pounds). Telecommunication Information Systems Officers will typically spend 60-70% of their career abroad on assignments that last between one to three years in length and are also required to participate in temporary travel assignments. Officers receive a variety of overseas benefits and allowances that positively impact overall compensation. Minimum requirements: These positions require a 5-year contract-term employment agreement. Contract-Term Agreement. Candidates should have Associate's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering Technology, Computer Network Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology or similar degrees from an accredited technical school or university. A final GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Candidates with at least two years civilian or military work experience/knowledge in the telecommunications and/or automated information systems field that is comparable to one of the requisite degree fields may also qualify (example: with current computer systems, applications, networks, and hardware/software troubleshooting skills).
