Apply 17833 Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $90,823 – $139,523 Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Office of Inspector General (OIG) has multiple openings for qualified Auditors to conduct and oversee performance and financial statement and financial-related audits (please visit the NRO Web site at Responsibilities include developing and writing audit guides; developing and documenting audit findings in accordance with accepted government auditing standards; and developing audit conclusions and recommendations designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of NRO operations. Auditors will also conduct or support other OIG functions as required. Working in the OIG allows for growth beyond a particular area of expertise and the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the intricacies of NRO management. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required. Minimum Requirements: a BS/BA in accounting, finance, information systems, or business management, (including at least 24 semester hours of auditing or accounting) with a solid academic record. Specialized experience that enables you to successfully perform the duties of the position may be considered. Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to apply Government Auditing Standards, discern key issues and draw appropriate conclusions are also required. Two to five years of experience in government auditing, accounting or information systems is preferred, but not required. Applicants with advanced degrees or who possess professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners or Certified Information System Auditors are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must be highly self-motivated individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, and demonstrated ability to work productively, without constant supervision, within short deadlines in a team environment. Additionally, candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge of accounting and management concepts, principles, and techniques and ability to understand and assess complex issues, analyze programs and activities, recommend appropriate action; and interact with senior NRO and contractor officials.
