Criminalized Survivors Program: For over 30 years, the Criminalized Survivors Program has offered comprehensive clinical and legal support services to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) or other forms of gender-based violence (GBV) who have been criminalized for their efforts to survive or resist abusive partner behavior. Through our City-Wide program, we support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough. Through our Still Survivors program, a collaboration with the NYC Anti-Violence Project (AVP), we support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough, with a specific focus on LGBTQ survivors with ties to Manhattan. In addition, CSP has this position, a designated advocate/counselor serving criminalized survivors on site at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers, and a Training Team that helps lead the City's whole response to criminalized survivors.
The FJC Advocate will provide direct counseling and emotional support, case management, and advocacy to criminalized survivors who seek services at the FJC(s) and serve as the resident criminalized survivor expert both at the FJC where they are stationed and within the broader network of all the City’s FJCs.
Salary Range $70,000 - $73,500
