Execution & Construction Manager (On-Site) – Qatar/Doha

You‘ll make an impact by:

  • Ensures compliance with customer contract requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate EHS standards.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate QA standards.
  • Obtains licenses and consents.
  • Monitors progress, productivity, and time schedule
  • Identifies lacking progress and productivity and develops and implements mitigations.
  • Represents Siemens’ contractual and commercial interest’s vs contractors.
  • Lead the construction and execution phases of the project, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of project milestones.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams to facilitate project execution in alignment with project objectives.
  • Oversee onsite construction activities, including supervision of installation, installation, testing, and commissioning of contracted systems and all related infrastructure.
  • Plans, monitors and co-ordinates civil construction, mechanical and electrical installation, and erection of building services
  • Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols throughout the construction phase.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities, to communicate project status and address any issues or concerns.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides feedback and lessons learned.
  • In addition, the following shall be specific tasks:
  • Recruits site personnel.
  • Prepares site procedures.
  • Ensures compliance of contractors with site procedures, particularly in regard to EHS, QA/QC, progress, productivity as well as customer documentation and correspondence.
  • Sets targets, monitors their achievements and acts on deviations.
  • Prepares and executes monthly reviews of cost-to-date, cost-to-complete, schedule, progress, critical paths, risks, mitigations, and opportunities.
  • Prepares, conducts, and minutes daily co-ordination meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains List of Open Points and prepares customer’s acceptance.
  • Lead the installation sub-contractors at site.

Your success is grounded in:

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project execution and construction management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, practices, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Relevant certifications in project management or construction management are desirable.

Professional Experience:

  • 10-years professional experience in large EPC projects.
  • 7-years professional experience on large EPC project sites.
  • 5-years professional experience as site manager of large EPC projects on first or second level.
  • 3-years professional experience on sites in Middle East: Qatar, UAE, Saudia Arabia, or Oman.
  • 1-year professional experience in execution of time & material contracts of > 5 M USD volume.

Key Skills and knowledge:

  • Leadership, sound knowledge of contractual and commercial matters, time scheduling, progress, and productivity monitoring.
