The DRIVE Sim team is growing, and we're seeking an experienced technical writer with passion and drive, technical proficiency, and excellent writing and editing skills. We’re looking for someone who can quickly form good working relationships with developers and work collaboratively to produce great documentation that simplifies, explains, and empowers our users to get the most from DRIVE Sim Content Editor! This includes a mix of writing from scratch and revising draft documents supplied by developers.

When you join us, you’ll work on the authoring tools & technology documentation as part of the DRIVE Sim Tools & Content Demo Team – for example, writing and maintaining the documentation that teaches internal & external users how to use our tools for building advanced sim content. This includes the creation of vehicles, traffic lights, signs, road marks, characters, animating props, as well as building large worlds with complex road building.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Writing documentation about new software features and updating existing documents
  • Gathering, editing, and publishing subject-specific knowledge from subject matter experts and developers
  • Supporting development teams and delivering high-quality technical content within a fast-paced software release schedule
  • Building internal templates and standards to create clear and reusable content
  • Building tutorial videos, adding voiceovers, and using them to communicate progress internally with Nvidia and externally to our eco system partners
  • Helping a globally distributed team improve various aspects of the pipeline by providing feedback

What we need to see:

  • Experience working as a technical writer on different types of documentation, particularly API references, developer guides, and user manuals
  • 5+ years of experience writing technical documentation
  • Familiarity with Python / C++ 
  • Ability to run complex software using Linux and Docker
  • A propensity for thinking like a user and writing the documentation they need
  • A talent for identifying updates and changes that will impact users and documentation
  • The flexibility to find whatever method works best to get close to subject matter experts and learn what they know
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Video editing & tutorial-making skills with voiceovers
  • Passion for real-time graphics applications and games
  • Experience with 3D game development
  • Software engineering experience
  • Understanding of source control tools (GitHub and Mercurial) and experience using issue trackers such as JIRA to track project tasks

The base salary range is 140,000 USD - 264,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
