We are seeking a knowledgeable, creative, collaborative editor to oversee the production and creative vision of email newsletters that bring our content to audiences curious about how new developments in technology will affect their daily lives. 

As a newsletter editor, you’ll think creatively about how newsletters need to evolve to grow and engage those audiences. You’ll bring outstanding editing and organizational skills, a keen awareness of audience building and engagement, and knowledge of industry innovations and best practices. You'll work as a team player across both the Edit and Product teams.

What You'll Do: 

  • As both a writer and editor, support teammates in developing and crafting high-quality newsletters that present CNET's most compelling articles and voices in a format with optimal appeal, including top-notch prose, eye-catching images and distinctive headlines.
  • Know the newsletter production systems inside and out, applying that knowledge to the dissemination of successful newsletters.
  • Track the success of newsletters over time, identifying top performers as well as opportunities for growth and development, and make recommendations based on data.
  • Sync up with writers, editors, copy editors, production, design and other teams to bring appealing content to audiences both broad and targeted.
  • Hit deadlines, manage multiple tasks and meet production goals in a busy publishing environment.

Who You Are: 

  • 2+ years of experience writing and editing newsletters 
  • BA in Communications, Journalism, English or commensurate field
  • Top-notch written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, self-motivated, collaborative attitude with managers and colleagues
  • Excellent time management and data analysis skills
  • Ability to pivot quickly among different projects
  • Team player who is quick to raise a helping hand and apply feedback in the spirit of growth
  • Curious, with a mindset for learning
  • Career-ready and looking for home in the publishing industry

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range: $55,000-$70,000
  • New York City Cash Compensation Range: $55,000 - 80,000
  • San Francisco, CA Compensation Range: $55,000 - 80,000
  • Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
