Team: - The QA Analyst communicates and leads testing activities within PEOPLE, LEGAL, RISK & COMPLIANCE TECHNOLOGY. The QA Analyst interacts with the QA Lead, Manager, internal and external (vendor) Development Leads, development and QA teams, IT management and business partners. He/she works directly in testing; they create, execute test plan, scenarios, report results, defects to the teams and assures timely delivery. The role requires excellent understanding of QA and testing methodologies. 

Impact:- The role provides exposure to the S&P People framework, business, and functional model. This position closely works with the business team and development team to understand requirements and with the Vendor to test and implement the solution. The applications being worked on are extremely important and highly critical to the business. This position is extremely important to deliver what our customer needs.

The position requires daily interaction with senior leaders throughout S&P Global. As an experienced QA Analyst, you will have the opportunity to independently work on deliverables of the project end to end and collaborate with Vendors, developers, business analysts and Product owners who are experts in their domain that can help you to build multiple skillsets.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the single point of contact for testing related activities in a process area or work stream. Helps business partners and development team(s) design testability and supportability into requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of QA and testing methodologies, best practices.
  • Design and develop test plans, test cases based upon functional and design specifications, execute test cases, and analyze and report test results to the teams.
  • Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities.
  • Work in partnership with the development teams to deliver business functionality on time with required quality that meets the acceptance criteria.
  • Identifies and escalates testing issues; defect show-stoppers; impact of defects on customers; and risk of specific software changes.
  • Actively works with teams to complete root cause analysis (RCA) to proactively improve processes, reduce risk, eliminate defects, and show stoppers.
  • High standards of confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and trust.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skill.
  • Participates in team and design reviews to ensure deadlines are met and standards are followed.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex testing and data.
  • Conduct manual testing as needed, ensuring a holistic approach to quality assurance.

Minimum and Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent
  • 3+ years of software testing experience in all phases of testing including test planning, test execution and test closure.
  • Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, QA methodologies, defect management system, and documentation
  • Experience as an Automation QA Tester.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written communications.
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll processes, regulations, and compliance is a plus.
  • Hands-on Experience in one or more modules of Workday including Core HCM, Security is a plus.
  • Experience in MS Excel is a plus.
