You’ll partner closely with product management and engineering throughout the product and feature design and development process. This role will collaborate closely with various partners (including, but not limited to internal product management and research) to ensure teams have a solid grasp of the customer definition and competitive landscape before moving into design. You may support the creation of or use discovery UX deliverables prepared by UX researchers (such as personas and journey maps) to improve the customer experience across the entire lifecycle of our portfolio. You’ll be responsible for the execution of the requirements through design methods and deliverables such as flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual designs. You’ll look out for ease of use, quality, and accessibility in product solutions. This role will also conduct workshops and cross-functional design sessions to draw out the best thinking from the team, and test concepts and prototypes to refine with user feedback.

  • Facilitate requirements sessions with engineers to gather design specifications
  • Apply user-centered methodologies and research in product design
  • Deliver and defend customer-centered design presentations to internal users and team members

Who you’ll work with

  • A remote, cross-functional team of Visual Designers, Product Designers, UX Engineers and specialists
  • Development Managers, Product Managers and additional partners who will craft product requirements

Who you are

  • 5+ years experience as a visual, UI or UX designer working with product teams
  • Well-rounded understanding of user-centered design process, with a solid foundational knowledge of visual design principles
  • A portfolio of past design work experience, deliverables, and entrepreneurial innovation
  • An independent, fast worker; somebody who doesn’t let ambiguity slow them down
  • Advanced experience working with Figma
  • Strong technical understanding of Design Systems, patterns, and components
  • Strong written and verbal skills

Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!
