Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Architectural Designer in Piscataway, NJ.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing the architectural and engineering functions and inspections on a large number of small construction projects. This is a client facing role with travel up to 50% . This position will be based in Houston, Texas, however travel in TX and to clients in other states in the US is required for the position.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, however, are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform ABA Accessibility investigations throughout the United States
  • Develop and prepare elementary 2D AutoCAD plans and elevations
  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Additional comments: It is essential that the applicant be willing to travel to a variety of locations throughout the United States, that the applicant has a safe driving record and that the applicant to adhere to and maintain a responsible travel schedule when performing accessibility site investigations.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

BA/BS in Architecture, Civil engineering or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

This position will be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Registration Screening

Preferred requirements:

  • AutoCAD 2D Experience.
  • ABA Code knowledge or previous experience supporting accessibility construction projects.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as be able to work closely with and collaborate with a small team
  • 4+ years of related experience.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for US Work Authorization and will not be offered with this position.
  • Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (New Jersey) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $49,000- $67,000.
