We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst as part of our Business Line Financial Planning and Analysis department. Business Line FP&A is integrated within the larger Financial Planning and Analysis division at Zions Bancorporation. Position is located downtown Salt Lake City.

The Financial Analyst will join our Business Line FP&A team responsible for profitability analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, etc. for the Bank’s various business lines and lending units. Our team assists business leaders to understand the profitability of the various products and loans offered by the Bank. The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to:

  • Create and analyze financial statements and other financial documents or data to aide management in decision making process.
  • Complete analysis in one or more of the following areas: cost analysis, profitability, pricing, valuation, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, or reconciliation utilizing related analytical practices, principles, applications, and methods.
  • Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity, networking, and financial best practices.
  • Prepare financial planning reports of key performance indicators, ad hoc analysis reports, economic valuations, and cost benefit information.
  • Interact with senior finance management and business line leadership across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or another business-related field. 
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, analytics, or forecasting or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet the requirements, previous experience in Financial Services a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prepare oral and written reports.
  • Ability to work in a heavily deadline-oriented environment; must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; works effectively with co-workers and internal customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a large variety of audiences.
  • Ability to identify, research, coordinate, and resolve issues.
  • Ability to comprehend and develop complex financial models.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, R, or Python required.
  • Experience with Power BI and Business Objects a plus.
  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase or similar planning/reporting tool a plus.
