Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), consisting of Corporate Strategy & Impact, Enterprise Strategic Relationships, and Futurecasting, guides the development and execution of AARP's strategy, promotes strategic decision-making across the enterprise through actionable foresights and insights, and grows the impact of enterprise strategic relationships.

The Strategic Partnership Manager develops and maintains partnerships that assist the organization in meeting its strategic business objectives. Conducts due diligence evaluating potential partners and develops and delivers presentations highlighting the value of alliances or partnerships to all involved parties. Develops and implementation of project plans for the successful integration of alliances or partnerships. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department and/or partnership. 

Responsibilities

  • Manages projects and partnerships with broad impact through developing and managing project work plans; developing and managing project budgets; developing requests for proposals, selecting, and managing vendors, and reporting on project and partnership progress and outcomes.
  • Leads key experiences providing organizational value, including strategy, enhancements, integration and annual/multi-year planning and day-to-day project management.
  • Responsible for compiling and presenting reporting for the organization’s social mission member value offerings and digital experiences.
  • Leads integration (digital and otherwise) with AARP for partnerships as they launch and are on boarded.
  • Manages the development of process and captures lessons learned from development and execution of strategic partnerships.
  • Partners with team leadership on budgeting and financial forecasting for budgets associated with member value social mission offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Completion of Master’s degree or MBA is preferred
  • 6+ years experience in a combination of the following areas: Strategic Partnerships, Communications, Business Analysis, Business Strategy, Strategic Marketing, Competitive Intelligence and/or management consulting
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners and business partners at all levels and in a manner that supports AARP’s mission and strategic position in the marketplace
  • Ability to leverage company resources, stakeholders, at all levels to ensure the innovative strategic partnerships are forged and executed against outcomes 
  • Exhibits strong project management and execution skills with an ability to coordinate various groups and be proficient at managing multiple projects
  • Must possess strong analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills to derive creative solutions to tackle hard-to-answer questions

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
