Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a Dispatcher Lead to support a pending contract award in Haiti. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dispatcher Lead (DL) will be for supporting the Program in the Emergency Operations Center performing communications, dispatch and supervising activities of subordinates while on duty.

  • Assist in training and develop as directed by Program leadership to ensure a successful Emergency Operations Center performance IAW international, US, military and PWS requirements.
  • Monitor the automatic fire alarm system and dispatches emergency responders and/or technicians as appropriate and creates corresponding service requests for technicians.
  • Monitor, answer, and interpret various equipment indicating facilities emergencies. Prioritizes information, delegates to the appropriate trade, and creates service requests for emergency facility work orders.
  • Responsible for communicating with and notifying emergency service personnel when appropriate.
  • Monitor and operate HF/VHF/Satellite telephone equipment, various radio equipment and assists communications technicians with troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
  • Assist with operational aircraft communications, including uncontrolled airfield announcements and distributing aircraft movement reports to field camps, other stations, fire personnel and various other departments.
  • Maintain all documentation as directed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Thoroughly communicate current and pertinent information during every shift exchange.
  • Coordinate international communications and relays information to appropriate agencies. 
  • Provide support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergency events and drills.
  • Coordinate radio communications as required during Fire Department, mass casualty events/drills, and conveys instructions via UHF/VHF/HF/Satellite as directed by Program leadership.
  • Notify communications technicians when equipment malfunctions or failures occur.
  • Provide communication support to personnel in the field. 
  • Work a varied schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage of the communications center. This can include working day shift, night shift and station holidays and events.

The DL shall be available within 2 hours to meet on the installation with Government personnel to discuss problem areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatch / emergency services at the operational command level
  • Ability to function in an office setting, answer the phone, use office equipment, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and be capable of adjusting to the communication style appropriate for the audience
  • Ability to listen and understand supported unit requirements
  • Knowledgeable about and have experience with the military decision-making process
  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid US or local driver's license and US passport
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. 
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment as required
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent

This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
