Position:

This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the talent engine fueling a high growth organization with a rapidly advancing pipeline. Eikon Therapeutics is looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - R&D to further build and support analytics, processes, and support key decision making forums across the organization. The role will report to the Executive Director, FP&A and will focus on the establishment of performance management analyses, reporting suites, tools, cross-functional collaborations, and broader FP&A transformation with the R&D team.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish a comprehensive performance management framework that includes quarterly business reviews where key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and scorecards will be delivered to the key R&D functions
  • Design and deliver insightful financial reports that provide actionable intelligence to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Oversee the transformation of budgeting and forecasting practices, incorporating scenario analysis and predictive modeling
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to the study leads for our ongoing clinical trials and the functional leads across the Research and TechOps organizations
  • Lead the effort to expand internal capabilities to manage clinical trial site payments at Eikon 
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment across multiple groups at Eikon and with certain key vendors
  • Continuously assess and improve FP&A processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance the quality of financial analysis 
  • Guide your team in developing and maintaining key financial models and financial accrual practices
  • Lead key initiatives to ensure spend transparency across the R&D organization
  • Develop and deliver key input to enable decisions at governance forums across the organization 
  • Lead training initiatives and change management activities to promote the adoption of new FP&A tools, practices, and mindsets within the R&D organization
  • Establish a robust FP&A governance structure that ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations, while also facilitating effective performance management within the R&D organization

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in related field, including financial planning & analysis, or financial operations roles
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Experience with advanced analytical platforms and visualization tools
  • Experience with Anaplan
  • Knowledge of and experience with clinical trial payments
  • Understanding of the drug development pathway from target identification to product launch
  • Strong business acumen: proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms
  • Excellent project management / leadership skills with demonstrated track record and ability to engage teams to work together towards common deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills to deliver succinctly and effectively deliver recommendations to senior leaders, frames complex concepts
  • Prior experience working in a matrixed environment; experience coordinate processes and delivering results through the collaboration of related teams

The expected salary range for this role is $204,000 to $223,250 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
