The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Electrical Design Engineer.

Job Summary

We are expanding our product development team and need electrical systems and component design engineers to fuel the next generation of awesome Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and Products. In this role, you will work with an experienced cross-functional engineering team and have design and delivery ownership for electrical content from concept through launch.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical system & component requirements through cross-functional engineering collaboration, product benchmarking and input from internal stakeholders
  • Explore technical solutions and present design recommendations to achieve requirements
  • Create electronics architecture, schematic, layout. Create designs that will pass Harley-Davidson standards (Including design for EMC, Voltage Transients and Environmental)
  • Develop designs through Tier I electrical component partners or Contract Manufacturers and approve designs for production
  • Utilize the "Great Harley-Davidson Engineering" design framework, implement NPIP 2.0 development methodology, and design for quality processes
  • Support pre-production build events and participate in product test & evaluations
  • Resolve technical issues by applying problem solving techniques and facilitating cross-functional engineering & test support as needed
  • Verify system performance to H-D standards, approve supplier validation, and work with test and verification entities to ensure EE system meets or exceeds targets
  • Support launch activities and customer events to ensure effective rollout of new products

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Advanced Degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. In addition they will have demonstrated the following:

  • Electrical System Design and Integration/Module & Component Interaction
  • Electrical Aptitude & Hands on Design Experience
  • Requirements Development
  • Design for Quality
  • Test & Diagnostics
  • Project management tools and principles

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
