We are growing the Accounting division of our Finance team, and are looking for a proactive and detailed Product Controller- Retail, Associate.This person will work closely with our Product Controller, Lead and will be collaborating with the Accounting team on tasks like monthly closing, billings, payables, account analysis and general accounting support. This role will be a jack of all trades and the person must be willing to flex their role to get the job done and deliver across all areas of finance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • To ensure that the daily P&L is accurately reported to business owners and senior finance management and reconciled with management reporting tools
  • Provide insight and daily commentary on P&L swings and variance investigation to business owners and senior finance management
  • Enhance overall revenue accounting processes through automation and driving efficiencies
  • Manage accounting for key revenue streams in creating month end and quarter end journal entries and related analysis.

  • Manage the process of review of certain customer contracts and ensure proper completion of documentation, identifying and documenting issues and the financial impact in compliance with ASC 606
  • Partner with data analysts and data scientists to originate and maintain data integrations between various software platforms used for accounting functions
  • Lead communication with auditors on revenue recognition and related matters as part of our annual audit. Additionally, coordinate communications between auditors and internal stakeholders on prioritization of requests and drafting responses. 
  • Take ownership of certain month-end close activities including reconciliation of receivable accounts, verification to source information, preparation of certain journal entries.
  • Constant evaluation of current revenue accounting processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the middle and back office teams to ensure bank, wallet, and exchange balances are reconciled 
  • Support the team in completing special projects as needed 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • The foremost quality for this position or any position at Blockchain.com is integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • CPA or similar designation preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of experience in a combination of industry and public accounting experience with at least 4 years in a specialized revenue position
  • Audit experience in the FinTech industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 340 or desire to learn
  • Organized and have proven ability in designing and implementing effective revenue operation controls and processes
  • Strong project management skills and ability to drive completion of complex projects, with effective communications internally across departments and with the external parties 
  • Ability to rapidly respond to changing priorities and accommodate short notice for deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work as a team to identify process improvements.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management
  • Previous experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Adapt to a fast-paced continuous learning environment and show a willingness to take on additional responsibility where required.

Pay Transparency Notice: At Blockchain.com, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For individuals performing work in the United States, the target annual salary for this position can range from $100,000 to $120,000, and your actual pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location, as well as internal equity and market data.

We also offer benefits that include medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, paid parental leave, flexible paid time off. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and full-time employees will receive equity as part of the compensation package.
