Associate Creative Director (Copy), Creative, Ruder Finn

We work with top businesses and industry associations in healthcare, technology, and life sciences, focusing on communicating innovation and change. We are skilled in brand communications, advocacy, corporate storytelling, employee engagement, brand strategy, paid media, and everything in between. We want to hire an Associate Creative Director (ACD) who is creative and business savvy, and who can specialize in copywriting. The ACD will help our agency’s account, production, design, & editorial teams by creating copy and creative multi-channel integrated marketing and communications campaigns. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and/or mentor a team of copywriters and art directors to produce innovative and effective campaigns for a variety of clients 
  • Oversee the creative process from concept to execution, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment with client briefs and objectives 
  • Present and sell creative work to clients and internal stakeholders, and solicit feedback to refine and improve the work 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, account managers and other agency departments, and collaborate on strategic and creative solutions 
  • Manage and inspire a team of creative professionals, including copywriters, art directors, designers and producers 
  • Supervise the development and execution of creative concepts and campaigns across various media platforms, ensuring they meet the clients' goals and expectations 
  • Pitch and defend creative work to clients and agency leadership, and incorporate feedback to enhance the work 
  • Foster a collaborative and productive environment among the creative team and other agency departments, and facilitate cross-functional communication and problem-solving 
  • Keep abreast of the latest industry developments, consumer insights and cultural trends, and encourage the team to explore new and innovative ways of storytelling 
  • Monitor the creative output from ideation to delivery, ensuring it is on brief, on brand and on budget 
  • Showcase and explain creative work to clients and agency management, and seek input to optimize the work 
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships with clients, account managers and other agency functions, and work together to achieve strategic and creative excellence 
  • Research and analyze the current market situation, consumer behavior and competitive landscape, and inspire the team to develop cutting-edge and relevant ideas 

Qualifications 

  • 5 + years of agency experience 
  • BA degree (Advertising, Communications, Fine Arts, or related field preferred) 
  • Demonstrated creative ability, successful client contact experience, collaboration with account management, excellent presentation skills, experience managing creative teams and multiple accounts 
  • Commitment to go the extra mile in time and effort to produce the very best work 
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates creativity, originality, and strategic thinking 
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
