Do you have empathy for customers and get excited about product quality? 

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern to join our Email Security product team, with a focus on end-to-end testing and test automation. Working in a highly collaborative team, you’ll be given opportunities to work without other SDET Engineers to test the product end-to-end and develop test automation to empower a continuous delivery capability. If interested, you’ll also be able to contribute to product development efforts such as adding new features, fixing bugs, and developing tooling. 

In this role you’ll see the deep impact across customer satisfaction, usability and quality, and feature development. 

What you'll be working on 

  • Opportunities to define test scope and test plans/cases across a full-featured SAAS web-application across the frontend and backend (APIs, microservices, scale/performance) 
  • Work on manual testing, where appropriate alongside our more experienced team members 
  • Exposure to automated testing using such tools as mabl, selenium, cucumber 
  • Inside look at how we triage issues escalated to Engineering 
  • Work with other engineers to debug issues and implement fixes/improvements 
  • Help us develop tooling for use by Support or Engineering to make it easier to find problems, interact with product systems, or gain greater visibility into ‘what’s happening
  • Opportunities to identify and champion changes and features that will improve the customer experience and quality of the product 
  • Participate in product development activities with the Product Manager and Team, such as prioritization discussions, design reviews, and sprint planning/grooming/retro activities 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or masters degree in engineering, computer science or a related field 
  • A keep interest in software products requiring 24/7 availability 
  • Knowledge of Linux 
  • Exposure to programming and bash scripting experience in a language such as python 
  • Knowledge of testing REST APIs for microservices, and API tools such as Swagger or Postman 
  • Basic familiarity with distributed databases, streaming/queueing services, batch processing workflows, microservices and APIs 
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook Add-Ins 
  • Conceptual understanding of public cloud architectures and deployments, modern CI/CD pipelines, observability and monitoring best practices
