Risk COO Full Time Associate
Background on the Position
The role will reside within the Regulatory Risk Function that sits in Firm Risk Management's (FRM) COO function. The Regulatory Risk Function is at the nexus of risk stripes globally and has several responsibilities including:
1. Managing regulatory exams
2. Administration of the Risk Governance Framework for US Swap Dealers
3. Oversight of ad-hoc regulatory projects
4. Oversight of the development of FRM policies, procedures and governance framework
5. Tracking and reporting progress of regulatory deliverables
6. Oversight of the rule self-assessment process
The ideal candidate will have broad experience in senior audience communication, stakeholder management, and project management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, providing exposure to all areas within FRM.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as key contact for FRM QA reviews which include:
1. conduct and support the QA assessment for Risk COO processes
2. coordinate, review and challenge QA assessment completed by other Risk Function
3. support the central reporting of QA assessment outcome to senior management
Provide support on ad hoc risk management governance projects, including partnering with stakeholders across the department on new Risk COO initiatives
Develop solutions to enhance FRM's risk governance processes and enforce FRM governance standards in various areas such as committees, documentation and decision making processes
Coordinate and prepare presentation materials for key stakeholders regarding FRM risk governance for various senior management committees and forums
Member of the FRM Central Policy Office, providing centralized oversight of all FRM policies and procedures, key responsibilities include:
1. review and update of FRM documentation
2. develop the monthly reports on FRM's' policies and procedures
3. coordinate cross-FRM updates to documentation
4. maintain regular communication with FRM's policy teams
5. coordinate updates to the Global Risk Management Principles, a cross-risk Board approved document
Qualifications - Internal
Skills Required (Essential)
1. Bachelor's degree required
2. Exceptional written and verbal communicator
3. Detail-oriented and organized
4. Strong relationship builder
5. Ability to think both strategically and tactically
6. Financial services background not essential
7. Project management across broad constituencies
8. Exceptional problem solver possessing solid analytical abilities
9. Effective multi-tasker who can deliver under tight deadlines
10. Familiar with financial services industry governance standards/ guidance
11. Proficient in MS Office and related applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
