SF Acquisition Mortgage Insurance Credit Risk Management Director (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)

Position Overview:

The SF Acquisition Mortgage Insurance Credit Risk Management Director is responsible for ongoing credit risk management of mortgage insurance related activities across Single Family Acquisitions by engaging as a key business partner in risk discussions and interactions for new loan acquisitions. You will partner with Credit Policy, Credit and Capacity, Seller Engagement, Quality Control, Analytics and Reporting Team, as well as other Freddie Mac internal stakeholders to proactively address risk profiles of loans sold with mortgage insurance. The Director will serve as a primary credit risk contact for Mortgage Insurance Companies, engaging in matters related to credit policy, loan performance, new offering opportunities and enhancements to existing offerings. The role will also work closely with second line partners and the enterprise for the continued support of appropriate risk management.

Your Impact:

  • Strategy: Understand Credit Risk Management strategic goals and how mortgage insurance credit risk is appropriately integrated and managed to provide relevant solutions in support of our corporate and division strategies.
  • Execution: Support management of Single-Family Acquisitions Credit Risk with a focus on clear and consistent engagement, interaction, and risk monitoring of mortgage insurance related activities associated with new loan deliveries.
  • Relationship management: Maintain and grow credit risk related relationships with all the industry Mortgage Insurance providers.
  • Risk management: Engage with business partners on risk assessments, development and use of improved reporting and the leverage of both Single Family and Enterprise risk policies and procedures to ensure mortgage credit risk is appropriate and/or improved, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 10+years of related experience in mortgage and consumer credit risk
  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management with strong knowledge, experience, and exposure to mortgage insurance providers.
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience with reporting for risk management purposes
  • Results oriented with proven ability to develop and execute strategies.
  • A thought leader who embraces innovation, questions the status quo, and has courage to drive responsible changes.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work effectively and collaboratively with diverse group of partners.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $177,000 - $265,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
