About the Role:

The Sr. Director, Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing a proactive communications plan that effectively communicates the company strategy and milestones to internal and external stakeholders. This individual should be a strong communicator, able to collaborate effectively with executives and senior leaders, and able to work collaboratively across functions. Given the rapid growth of SpringWorks, the individual should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a strategic thinker, while also willing to “roll up his or her sleeves” to contribute to work that needs to get done. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of the biotech industry and experience working with or for a public healthcare company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute cohesive and proactive communications and media relations strategy to raise visibility of SpringWorks, with a strong focus on corporate and product communications. 
  • Work with executive team on thought-leadership initiatives to position SpringWorks’ management as leaders in biotech and targeted oncology. 
  • Draft and manage review process for press releases and other communications materials (fact sheets, infographics, web content, etc.). 
  • Help to coordinate media interactions, ensuring spokespeople are carefully prepared and equipped with appropriate messaging. 
  • Ensure close partnership with Commercial, Patient Advocacy, Investor Relations and other cross-functional teams. 
  • Manage public relations and/or other agency partners to maximize impact and assistance in reaching desired communications goals and objectives; provide clear direction to agencies for messaging, channel mix selection, content development and tactical delivery. 
  • Help to oversee the corporate website and other corporate properties/social channels. 
  • Assist with internal communications around company milestones and events. 
  • Assist with quarterly earnings materials and other corporate announcements as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required 
  • 12+ years of experience in communications or corporate affairs, ideally in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry or at a communications/PR agency who has worked in the biotech industry and a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years and a Master’s degree; or 6 years and a PhD; or equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of and engagement with biotech, scientific and financial media, including relationships with relevant health and business reporters. 
  • Proven track record of building and effectively implementing successful corporate brand initiatives including through social media channels. 
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the healthcare industry. 
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively work across functions.
  • Experience managing agency and vendor relationships. 
  • Budget management and organization skills also essential. 
  • Excellent project management abilities, follow-through, attention to detail and high sense of urgency. 
  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring and developing employees.
  • Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to give clear direction to vendors/agencies.
  • Flexible and able to succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
  • Embody the SpringWorks Values to act with empathy and humility to drive a culture that takes ownership and accountability for their individual and teams’ performance. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors effectively and clearly in a remote hybrid work environment. 
  • Ability to travel occasionally including overnight stay driven by business need.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $200,000 – $240,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
