Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

As Gears Manufacturing Engineer, On-site Korea – Surion you will be responsible for all the technical gears support activities needed to industrialize helicopter program components realized by the customer and customer partners facilities and to facilitate communication with Headquarter. You will be located at the customer's premises in South Korea for an extended period of time.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support customer during concurrent engineering activities with the design engineers
  • Facilitate the information exchanges between Customer/Partners and Headquarter
  • Guide the Buyer and KIP's engineers and technicians in fully comprehending the drawings, the substantiation requirements, the design intent and in developing the Buyer and KIP’s workshare manufacturing process
  • Help in definition of macro sequence, tooling and equipment during industrialization phases
  • Suggest solutions, and others as applicable

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering or High School Technical Diploma with relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of gears manufacturing processes and tooling/fixture definition
  • Expertise in metrology principles applied to geometrical tolerances
  • Experience in similar roles, ideally in the aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of aerospace substantiation requirements
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
  • Ability to manage activities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Availability to travel as needed to support the Business
  • Italian fluent and fluent English level
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
