Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

The role holder will be part of the HR Business Management team, responsible for overseeing and leading effective application of Barclays risk and control frameworks and governance on the HR Vertical and/or People Horizontal, including delivery of HR Chief Controls Office (CCO) and HR Chief Data Office (CDO) mandated activity across the HR function, working in partnership with the HR TC Portfolio Business Managers and leadership teams to enact these processes.

What will you be doing?

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Director, HR Business Management, Risk & Control to: 

  • Lead the HR Business Management Risk & Control team, ensuring colleagues are appropriately skilled to maintain an effective Controls Environment across the HR Vertical and People Horizontal
  • Champion Risk and Control mindset; provide subject matter expertise and strategic partnership to key stakeholders across the HR Function 
  • Providing subject matter expertise and partnership to key stakeholders across the HR Function, driving precision in controls and risk management across the Function, including identification of opportunities to strengthen the Controls Environment and upskill other HR colleagues on risk and control and data and records management governance requirements. 
  • Define consistent approaches to delivery of HR Risk and Control and Data/Records Management deliverables, proactively working with CCO and CDO to ensure these are delivered on time and to a high quality

  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify efficiency opportunities, challenging the status quo
  • Proven ability to effectively lead multiple priorities, ensuring consistent delivery to a high standard
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to identify and collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders and gather, review, and interpret complex data in order to identify a proposed solution
  • Strategic mind-set – naturally inquisitive, connects the dots and thinks function and enterprise-wide
  • Minimum educational qualification required for this role is Graduate 

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior management and stakeholders globally 
  • Demonstrable ability to draw insights from data/analysis
  • Risk and Control mindset – understands the importance of effective risk and control processes and practices that are in compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements and how to apply this in practice
  • Experience in managing/coordinating communications across a wide range of stakeholders globally 
  • Relevant experience across Chief Controls Office (or any line of defence), Chief Data Office and/or Business Management
