Our group develops Head-up-Displays (HUD’s) for a large range of passenger cars (e.g. Mercedes, Ford, Renault, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi etc.), starting from our customer’s requirements to serial production of the device.

A Head-up Display (HUD) is a projecting system that shows all relevant information for a car driver directly in their line of sight. This is done by projecting light into the driver’s eyes, which will perceive a virtual image, containing all this information, in front of the car, overlapped with the road.

Now we start a team who will be involved in new technologies for HUD and who will make the steps forward from new ideas to new concepts and products.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensures development, maintenance and tracking of requirements on system (component) level. Defines the system architecture and decomposes the system into sub-systems (platform, modules, and components);
  • Internal and external interfaces are: Software Developers, Algo Developers, Hardware Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, System Test Engineers, Project Managers, Quality Engineers;
  • Participates to the reviews and to the release of the discipline architecture (SW, HW, MD, optics);
  • Supports error analysis process (e.g. checks system impact) and field return analysis;
  • Responsible for creating Project Safety Plan and /or Safety Concept;
  • Participates to the definition of the content of customer delivery, in order to support the system integration planning;
  • Participates in the quotation phase for new projects (participates in technical discussions with the customer, creates a draft system architecture, offers support for cost estimations), if requested;
  • Participates to the definition of the prototypes in order to present them to the customer, if requested;
  • Responsible for proposing solutions for improvement in own area of expertise/ processes/ procedures.

Qualifications

  • University degree (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics, Automatics, Mechanics) or relevant professional experience;
  • More than 10 years experience in product development (for several projects) out of which at least 2 years in System Engineering;
  • More than 3 years experience in Automotive Electronics;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills;
  • Determined, goal-oriented personality, collaborative, and open-minded attitude;
  • Experience in documenting and presenting technical work results;
  • Very good English, spoken and written;
  • Very good communication skills.
