What we're looking for

Our ideal candidate is not only great at what they do but is also mission-driven. We are looking for someone who is skilled at building and scaling a talent acquisition department while mapping the growth of their team to the mission and business strategy. Our ideal candidate for this position has successfully recruited across the organization (C-Level, Sales & Marketing, G&A, Tech & Product, etc.), managed a team of Talent Acquisition professionals (Recruiters, Recruiting Ops, etc.), successfully built and up-leveled internal processes and worked cross-functionally to achieve hiring goals for the organization. This is a player / coach position with the majority of your focus on leading/coaching the team (75%) and a smaller portion of the role (25%) recruiting & interviewing & hiring for roles that are either specialty, quick-turnaround, C-level or senior leadership positions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience as a Talent Acquisition Manager or Head of Talent.
  • 5-10 years of previous Talent Acquisition & Recruiting leadership experience
  • Knowledge of hiring processes, skill development, and organizational analysis frameworks.
  • Successful experience recruiting and placing candidates in roles across a growing tech startup. i.e. Sales/Biz Dev/Marketing, G&A, Operations, Tech & Product
  • Proficient at using software and leveraging technology for talent acquisition processes.
  • A thorough understanding of state and federal legal processes, requirements, and legislation.
  • Analytical mindset, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Skilled at negotiation, presentation, closing and at both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Meticulous, hard-working, and goal-driven.
  • Tech enabled higher education, publishing or social network experience is a plus.

What you’ll work on:

  • Overseeing sourcing, hiring, and employee acquisition processes.
  • Ensuring that talent acquisition projects fall in line with organizational objectives.
  • Cultivating a culture of excellence and developing clear objectives for talent acquisition.
  • Creating and deploying guidelines/SOP for hiring practices within the organization.
  • Participating in meetings with talent acquisition managers and other executives.
  • Collaborating with hiring managers to ensure the effective sourcing and retention of talent.
  • Creating and guiding training initiatives and education policies.
  • Producing regular reports on talent needs, acquisitions, and plans.
  • Presenting hiring, talent, and employment-related reports to members of the organization.
  • Critical employer branding efforts to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Communicating the plan versus actuals to various stakeholders on a regular basis

Please note that this role is in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We're excited to have a packed and lively office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Twice a week those of us in the Bay Area come to our office located in the San Francisco Financial District for All Hands, intense collaboration, brainstorming activities, and fun events. There are small rooms for 1-1 mentoring sessions or heads down work, and larger rooms for team activities. We continue to support a flexible work environment for all of life’s surprises and needs with generous time off and flexible daily work schedules.
