Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The Opportunity:

To aid in this mission, the Translational Medicine (TM) team at RevMed is seeking a highly motivated, scientifically creative, and collaborative Senior Scientist to work in a fast-paced environment within a cross-functional team. You will be a highly motivated scientist, dedicated to biomarker discovery, clinical biomarker development, implementation, and interpretation to help advance our oncology pipeline. You will be responsible for developing and executing biomarker strategies utilizing state-of-the-art technologies for pharmacodynamic response, proof-of-mechanism, and patient stratification/selection. A strong understanding of tumor biology, molecular pathways, genomic techniques, and the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets will be key strengths. You will have the opportunity to contribute scientifically across the portfolio to programs at various clinical development stages.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Define and execute translational and biomarker strategies for Revolution Medicine’s clinical-stage oncology programs with a focus on mechanism of action, target engagement, establishment of PK/PD/efficacy relationships, patient selection strategies and understanding mechanisms of intrinsic and acquired resistance.
  • Ensure that clinical biomarker plans are developed and implemented efficiently and aligned with the strategic needs of the program.
  • Manage external biomarker analysis at contract research organizations (CROs) including experimental design, fit-for-purpose validation, budgeting, timelines, oversight of clinical implementation, and data analysis during trial conduct.
  • Collaborate with Translational Medicine team members in biomarker operations and clinical bioinformatics on executing biomarker plans.
  • Evaluate new technologies to enable exploratory biomarkers.
  • Represent Translational Medicine within project/program teams; analyze, interpret, and present biomarker results, meet project/program milestones for TM responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, laboratory manuals, regulatory submissions, abstracts, and publications.
  • Effectively collaborate across internal functions including translational sciences, clinical development, clinical operations, biostatistics, data management, and clinical pharmacology to ensure successful execution in the clinic.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • A Ph.D. in cancer biology, cell/ molecular biology or equivalent with 3+ years of post-doctoral and/or industry experience, or an M.S. with 6+ years of industry experience. Experience in Translational Medicine with clinical-stage oncology drug development is highly desirable. Title will be commensurate with experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinically relevant biomarker approaches across a range of technology platforms (NGS, RNAseq, IHC, mIF, qPCR/ ddPCR, etc.), and standard analytical tools, Excel, Prism, etc
  • NGS and genomic biomarker data analysis experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with central laboratories and CROs supporting biomarker analysis is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to write and present biomarker plans and results in a clear and concise manner.

The expected salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000. An individual’s position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
