About the Role: Application Analyst Developer - Workday

The Team: Digital Solutions HR (DS HR) team is a part of Digital Solutions & People, Legal, Risk and Compliance (PLRC), driven to provide a genuine impact in delivering shared services for people functions reliably, securely, applying data privacy best practices and ensuring a seamless experience for our people at S&P Global. Responsibilities and Impact: The Application/Analyst Developer will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and DS HR team on Workday, Linux and other third-party interface requirements and design
  • Adopt SAFE software development practices as part of our SDLC
  • Develop integrations or processes in systems like Linux, Oracle, and Workday
  • Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices
  • Understand and ensure data security, privacy and data quality in integrations is maintained
  • Analyze and translate business specifications and change requests into technical specifications
  • Consult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenance; collaborate on design decisions
  • Design and develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests
  • Ensure integrations function as designed based on business requirements
  • Provide support for inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations and develop new integrations

As an Application Analyst Developer, you will be part of Digital Solutions HR (DS HR) integrations team which sits in office of CDSO/CTO Corporate Platforms & People, Legal, Risk and Compliance (PLRC), providing reliable, secure shared services for people functions, adhering to best practices and ensuring a seamless experience for our people at S&P Global. 

This job will require you to collaborate with the other members in DS HR, People (HR) and Employees services teams who continuously drive improvements and help each other to deliver quality work. You will have a chance to partner with various People (HR) teams globally focusing on high impact work that will give you an opportunity to network, develop your skills, learn, and provide a path for success in building your career. This role will be involved in delivering value though Safe Agile in design, providing solutions development, testing, implementing of integrations.

An ideal fit for this role would require the following experience/knowledge in Linux and Workday:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, Engineering, or related technical discipline) or equivalent combination of training and work experience
  • 4 to 5 years of experience as Application Developer in Linux and Workday
  • Relevant certifications are a Plus
  • Strong understanding of Linux, Oracle SQL, File Transfers, PGP, and Workday modules especially Core HR, Recruiting, Payroll Interfaces, Business Processes, Organizational Hierarchies, and Integrations Security
  • Experience in developing Linux scripts, Cron jobs, Oracle SQL Procedures, and deep understanding of encryption concepts
  • Experience developing Workday integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Custom Reports and Document Transforms)
  • Knowledge of other integrations using Workday Web services, APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards), Workday Studio and knowledge in XML and XSLT
  • Experience supporting any integration failures including encryption in the production environment
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches to software development and ability to put key Agile principles into practice to deliver solutions incrementally
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong oral and written communication
