Summary

Main Duties

  • Responsible for pro-active and entrepreneurial promotional programs to drive business development, lead generation strategies, and target market awareness in Rooms, Meetings & Events, and Food & Beverage Outlets.
  • Management of all hotel reputation management platforms and timely responses including but not limited to Medallia, Trip Advisor, third party online booking channels.
  • Leader of weekly F&B meetings and strategic planning in hotel’s outlets.
  • Create, design, coordinate and implementation of all hotel collateral, digital signage, menus, special offers in the hotel.
  • In consultation with the Director of Sales, develop and manage marketing partnerships that represent an appropriate strategic fit with the Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park brand, in the form of co-promotions, hospitality events and business development opportunities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing an integral and consistent suite of hotel collateral and promotional material, adhering to Hyatt branding guidelines. Content and design control extends to managing the hotel website, all photography and all electronic materials.
  • In conjunction with the E-commerce/Digital team and digital media party, manage the annual media budget and delivery to ensure maximum online exposure. This includes but not limited to SEO, SEM and re-targeting campaigns.
  • Build loyalty and awareness of Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park and it’s F&B outlets on key social sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Responsible for developing an annual marketing communications plan, integrating promotional activities, media and all key marketing communications activities. This should be reviewed and enhanced where necessary on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for developing media relations and hosting key media hotel tours, on site filming and entertainment, both locally and in conjunction with Hyatt regional and divisional marketing centres internationally. This includes development of press kits, media releases and image distribution.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Sales, responsible for developing and managing annual media plan and implementation of advertising programs with relevant trade publications.
  • Responsible for the management of the hotel database, direct marketing activities and e-marketing initiatives.
  • Responsible for all areas of communications content (external and internal) including copy writing, logos, photography, printing and production consistent with Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park positioning and brand standards.
  • To assist Director of Sales in developing an annual calendar of monthly VIP hospitality events providing unique and exclusive entertainment opportunities for Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park and media.
  • As an active member of the hotel Sales and Marketing team, assist the sales team where required with hosting key client functions, content for selling and direct communications.
  • Ensure press activities are collected and reviewed monthly, and involved in monthly communication report to be submitted for the General Manager/Owners each month.
  • Coordinate the writing, editing and proofreading of all sales & marketing collateral in print and online
  • Creation and circulation of press releases to support marketing programs and initiatives.
  • In liaison with Human Resources and the Director of Sales, coordinate internal communications, updating staff on key Sales & Marketing activities, including the quarterly communications meeting.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the media database and proactively engage with key travel trade on a quarterly basis.
  • To coordinate the hotel’s communications with Pacific Reservations Office, including regular presentations and implementing booking incentive programs when appropriate.
  • Responsible for all submissions for local, national and international awards.
  • To develop sponsorship criteria for the hotel and to handle all inquiries relating to promotional and sponsorship requests, to assess same and to respond accordingly in consultation with Director of Sales.
  • To ensure close liaison with the press when in attendance at events conducted by 3rd parties within hotel premises to encourage positive mention of Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park in their coverage of the event.
  • To ensure close liaison with internal creative department to ensure timely turnaround of work requested and that deadlines are met.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years’ marketing and communications experience
  • Experience creating content and growing audience engagement
  • A creative mindset and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Good copy writing skills
  • Solid understanding of primary social media platforms with hands-on experience managing paid and organic social media to drive awareness and conversion
  • Can easily navigate the media landscape
  • Ability to identify target audience preferences and produce appealing content
  • Use and analyse data to make informed decisions
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritize and juggle a busy work load
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Adobe InDesign essential
