Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Global Learning & Organizational Development Director with global experience to join our passionate, collaborative, and results-driven team. As part of the HR Talent Services team of subject matter experts focused on the employee experience, the Global Learning & Organizational Development Director will lead the virtual team through design, implementation, communication and administration of Stantec’s talent strategies. The role will oversee the design and delivery of global talent programs that support an inclusive employee experience from beginning to end - from talent identification, assessment, segmentation, performance, learning, development, and succession planning. The Global Learning & Organizational Development Director will have an exceptional understanding of learning and organizational design programs and practices and ability recommend sound actions to senior leadership.

Your Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute Stantec’s learning and organizational development strategy

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the business and structure to create solutions that are aligned with long-term business goals, sound philosophies, and frameworks.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with various levels of leadership and stakeholders to effectively develop and implement the learning and organizational development strategy.
  • Ensure talent solutions align to and enable a performance culture of accountability, excellence, growth, innovation, and inclusion, in which every employee brings their full self to work and is inspired to do their best work.
  • Lead the performance management and career development processes and ensure they reinforce and further develop Stantec’s growth mindset.
  • Lead the design of talent segmentation and succession planning processes to understand organizational bench strength and identify talent pools, along with strategies to build and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
  • Design and execute engaging approaches to learning. Set direction and manage instructional design and development processes. Partner with HR Business Partners and the business to develop training and learning programs that deliver value to the business.
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to ensure programs are meeting the company’s needs.
  • Oversee the continued implementation of a global career framework that enables career pathing, skill and competency development.
  • Oversee the optimization of the talent management system and related processes.
  • Maintain budgets while balancing cost-effective solutions while delivering impactful talent programs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Develop metrics and/or benchmarks to measure success against targets and ensure accountability in tracking and monitoring initiatives.
  • Lead learning and organizational development efforts for acquisitions

Lead Stantec’s Learning and Organizational Development Team

  • Lead and develop a team of learning and organizational development subject matter experts.
  • Set key performance goals for team members for individual development and contribution to the organization’s success, aligning within the HR organization.
  • Provide guidance to regional resources regarding execution of global strategy, leading and integrating with cross-functional internal teams.
  • Enhance communication between various team members and clients to promote a positive work environment.
  • Develop outstanding internal relationships to deliver a top-notch employee experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to effectively communicate programs to our organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience and demonstrated leadership effectiveness leading Talent teams that deliver value to the business.
  • Proven, progress experience and demonstrated effectiveness in talent and organizational related initiatives and programs with an emphasis on leading and managing a team and influencing change.
  • Professional Certification preferred such as CPLP, CPTM, or HR certifications such as CHRL/CHRP, PHR/SPHR/GPHR or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
