ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently taking Expressions of Interest for experienced Area Managers in Auckland. If you’re passionate about retail and want to lead a passionate and high performing retail team across our iconic Amazon and Quiksilver stores, we want to hear from you! 

As Area Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the retail business for your area, having the opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive environment. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will drive results for a key area of our NZ business. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Driving KPI's to deliver sales targets through motivating leadership
  • Accountability for the sales, wages and shrinkage targets across your region
  • Motivating and encouraging your teams to achieve their financial budgets 
  • Developing your team’s skills and capabilities through a hands-on approach
  • Recruitment, performance and career development of your team
  • Stock feedback and inventory management

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for experienced Area Managers who have entrepreneurial flair and passion for leading and building high performing teams. You will have gained your retail knowledge and expertise within a large format, multi division fashion retailer with exposure to the wider commercial side of the business. You will have confidence and skills to manage your profit centre and deliver results, whilst being approachable for your team. You will have a passion for people, for training and development and bringing the best out in your team.

To succeed as Area Manager, you will need:

  • Proven multi-site experience in a volume retail sales environment incorporating front line sales and supervision of staff 
  • Experience with budget development, target implementation and profitable operation of a retail environment
  • Knowledge of human resource and personnel management principles, including experience with recruitment and selection
  • Excellent interpersonal skills appropriate to deal with a range of staff, customers and clients
  • Ability to coordinate, report on and action stock management and stock take procedures and practices
  • Passion for the surf lifestyle and providing an exceptional customer experience
