Job Summary

The Senior Director Financial Reporting is a leadership position within the TAG Accounting Office driving the strategy and timely execution of financial reporting and consolidation activities across TAG. This role will work closely with the external audit firm and internal teams to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of financial statements and disclosures. This role requires the initial scoping and cross functional assignment of reporting deliverables across the TAG organization to lay out the reporting protocols. This role will report to the Chief Accounting Officer but will be heavily integrated with the Corporate and brand controllers, as well as FP&A teams.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for internal monthly financial statement preparation and consolidation process in accordance with TAG’s internal basis reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, standardization and consistency of the balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial information.
  • Support the generation of internal management and board packages, financial analysis, and investor relations including ensuring quality control of all financial reporting.
  • Lead external GAAP and lender financial reporting and filing processes for quarterly, annual, and periodic reports, including drafting of financial statements, equity roll forward, footnotes, MD&A, and completion of GAAP checklists.
  • Prepare bridges reconciling internal to GAAP reporting.
  • Responsible for other reporting on capital structure, capital expenditures, cohort analysis, and other accounting office managed programs.
  • Partner with the VP, Corporate Controller in the monitoring, research, and analysis of technical accounting and financial reporting standards (e.g. GAAP, FASB) to prepare appropriate documentation and memos of accounting treatment of complex and highly judgmental transactions.
  • Responsible for the capital structure compliance, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders and teams to review and document current processes, identify risks and areas for improvement, and design controls to address potential gaps in controls over financial reporting.
  • Actively participate in disclosure processes, reviews, and meetings.
  • Oversee the maintenance of ERP data model that supports financial reporting and other processes.
  • Coordinate activities with external auditors to support their audit and quarterly review procedures.
  • Lead the historical financial data validation and load process into the ERP for recent or newly acquired businesses to support various reporting requirements.
  • Assist in reporting deliverables needed for capital transactions (recaps, debt financing, due diligence, etc.).
  • Strategize for the optimization of consolidation and reporting procedures, including reducing the time to report and reporting results and finding efficiencies in the reporting processes.
  • Lead and/or participate in special projects and other critical initiatives of the Reporting function and Accounting Office.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • CPA required and experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of combined accounting and reporting experience.
  • SEC reporting and experience with Sarbanes-Oxley is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical accounting issues in writing and verbally, including in presentations to senior executives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executives cross-functionally.
  • Ability to operate optimally in a constantly evolving, high-growth environment.
  • Track record of leading diverse, impactful teams with a focus on coaching, collaboration, and performance.
  • Experience in retail industries with multiple verticals is preferred.
  • Financial ERP / Reporting system knowledge, with Workday and Workday Adaptive ERP experience is plus.

Salary Range $225,000 - $250,000 + 25% bonus
