Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Senior Project Manager/Assistant Department Manager that is team-focused, innovative and results-oriented self-starter to assist in expanding our Traffic Planning Discipline in our Tampa, FL office. The Senior Project Manager/Assistant Department Manager will utilize leadership and engineering skills to perform traffic evaluations and a variety of design tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of traffic impact studies including data collection and intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software.
  • Attend and present at municipal planning, zoning and other board meetings.
  • Prepare concept drawings based upon client’s development objectives and conclusions of due diligence.
  • Review traffic studies and roadway, intersection and traffic signal designs.
  • Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, technical papers, and permit applications for private and public infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates based upon approved plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposes.
  • Manage, direct, and supervise the work efforts of assigned staff and projects.
  • Prepare effective work plans, schedules and man-hour budgets.
  • Perform client management duties and also participate in business development efforts.
  • Ability to manage clients and develop new business.
  • Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
  • Regular contact with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with the planning, design, and permitting of various types of infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering experience.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in FL is preferred or the ability to obtain license within 3 months.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or other related certifications are desirable.
  • Proficient technical skills in design of highway, intersection and signal improvement design plans.
  • Knowledge of traffic analysis procedures including trip generation computation, Synchro software and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Previous knowledge/experience with FDOT and area counties/municipalities design regulations and permit requirements.
