The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Administrator is responsible for the overall administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Asset Management Database (AMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. It will ensure the accuracy and reliability of the CMDB/AMDB as well as perform regular audits to ensure the completeness of the CMDB data.

This position will work closely with our Service Owners, Infrastructure Team Leaders, IT Service Management, ServiceNow Platform, Finance and Technology Business Management teams and provide the necessary support to be a successful and cohesive group.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

1. Oversee the administration, configuration, maintenance, design and improvement of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform.

2. Administer and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, including its configuration, data integrity, and ongoing synchronization with other IT systems and data sources.

3. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement best practices, processes, policies and guidelines for configuration management.

4. Work with other teams to ensure proper integration and alignment of CMDB data with processes such as incident, problem, and change management.

5. Perform regular audits and reconciliation activities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of CMDB data.

6. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve any data inconsistencies or discrepancies within the CMDB data.

7. Develop and maintain CMDB documentation regarding policies, standards and procedures.

8. Assist in developing, modifying, and configuring reports, dashboards, and outputs associated with the change, configuration, discovery and mapping functions.

9. Manage the integration of Contract, Financial and Vendor information from other NMHS systems.

10. Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.

11. Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a scientific field related to healthcare field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined (one year of education equals one year of experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a scientific field related to healthcare field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware/software management required.
  • ServiceNow experience required.
  • Experience with Workday procurement preferred.

License/Certifications

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Relevant CMDB experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with Automated Discovery tools is preferred
  • Experience maintaining a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is preferred
  • Experience in administering and configuring the ServiceNow CMDB is preferred
  • Knowledge ITIL practices and processes (Configuration Management)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Skill managing projects and process improvement methodology
  • Skill with written and verbal communication
  • Skill providing customer service
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, with flexibility to meet changing demands
