The Software QA Tester is responsible for testing our software and applications to maintain established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. Using a combination of manual and automated testing, you will help maintain a rapid deployment model of software delivery.

As a Software QA Tester, your role encompasses two key aspects. First, you will act as an individual contributor, concentrating on optimizing QA processes and championing quality practices throughout the development lifecycle. Second, you will be an integral part of a small, collaborative team, working alongside our product team, developers, and customer support, following a structured and systematic approach to ensure the quality of releases and maintain high system uptime for a high-transaction e-commerce web application.

The Software QA Tester uses the following tech stack: Jira, Git, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, Web Services, Azure, AWS, SQL Server, Cypress/Selenium, and Docker.

This is a hybrid role located in our Lehi, Utah or Jackson, Missouri office. 

What your contributions will be:

  • Participate in a healthy development team
  • Design, implement, and review test scenarios for manual and automated testing
  • Collaborate with product managers and internal business stakeholders to define requirements, acceptance test cases and plans, and associated estimations
  • Help drive the creation of clear stories and acceptance criteria
  • Create, maintain, and improve automated test suites that can be used to test new features and become part of the regression suite
  • Triage and document bugs and improve testing in response
  • Create and perform various forms of functional and non-functional testing
  • Maintain a functional and performant testing environment
  • Deliver high-quality releases to customers
  • Facilitate team communications while monitoring site functionality and performance metrics for product deployment and releases
  • Report on testing activities and deliverables 
  • Do continuous improvements to the testing process and coverage
  • Perform exploratory accessibility testing and generate detailed reports about user experience findings for the product design team
  • Monitor daily Mailgun metric reporting, investigating and responding as needed to deliverability issues

What you will need for success:

  • 1+ years of manual testing experience
  • Test automation experience preferred
  • Experience with test planning and reporting
  • Experience using Cypress, Selenium, or a similar automation tool
  • Experience testing web applications
  • Experience testing both functional and non-functional requirements
  • REST/Web API testing experience using tools such as Postman preferred
  • Experience with relational database testing (SQL Server) and ability to write SQL queries
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Experience using logging/monitoring tools such as DataDog
  • Exposure to AWS or Azure preferred
