Talent Acquisition Recruiter

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview: Pursuit is in search of an experienced and diligent recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team for a significant and challenging growth phase. We’ll need this individual to partner with our hiring teams ranging from the c-suite to middle management and across multiple functions. This individual will need to project manage active candidates and devise unique and thoughtful outreach and engagement plans for passive talent to ensure the timely completion of multiple vacancies. In addition, this person will aid in the development of our hiring content (JD’s, Practical Exercises, Work Product Reviews) and the design of our hiring process. The right candidate must be comfortable partnering with c-level hiring managers, working on industry-unique vacancies, and organizing and leading the complete life cycle of recruitment, for their vacancies. In addition, they must possess a demonstrated history of maintaining extremely high behavioral standards for past hires. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Candidate Experience: Promote and effectively communicate Pursuit’s long term vision and strategy, core mission and value proposition to all candidates. Effectively screen viable candidates and ensure they are clear on role expectations, cultural standards at pursuit, and interview process. Coach and guide candidates through the hiring process ensuring they have clear expectations on what skills and behaviors will be evaluated at each interview stage. 
  • Project Manage Vacancies: Coordinate and work closely with all hiring managers and candidates (both inbound and sourced) Manage cross functional teams seamlessly and at a high level in order to properly execute the hiring process. 
  • Develop Hiring Content: Partner with Hiring Managers in order to develop job descriptions that effectively communicate the value and excitement of a role to passive candidates. In addition, ensure all vacancies have a clear hiring process complete with Practical Exercises and Work product Review Assignments.
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System (Greenhouse): Ensure that all job vacancies are accurately reflected within Greenhouse and that candidates are on the correct jobs and interview stage. 
  • Support Hiring Teams: Lead preparation sessions with the hiring panel to ensure new interview stages are appropriately executed. Ensure interviewers have a clear sense on what they are assessing and the focal point of each interview. Also lead candidate debrief sessions for late stage candidates to ensure calibration and alignment on the vacancy and potential hire.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate and Mission Driven: Deep commitment to Pursuit’s mission to help underserved and underrepresented communities achieve financial independence 
  • Relevant Education and Work Experience: Undergraduate degree and 3-5+ years of professional experience as a full-cycle recruitment ideally within the Tech or Consulting industries. This experience will dieally have been in early-stage and/or high growth environments with each vacancy having a critical impact on business objectives. 
  • Superior Technical Skills and Toolkit: Project management expertise and experience. Strong analytical skills. Proven experience and track record of filling difficult vacancies, with passive talent. Comfort and expertise working within LinkedIn recruiter and Greenhouse is essential. 
  • Work Ethic, Results Driven and Attention to Detail: Hardworking, data driven, relentlessly meticulous, driven and outcomes focused. Experience working closely and building consensus with organizational leaders to achieve desired results
  • Strong Communications Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong presence
  • Thoughtful and Creative: Intelligent, resourceful, flexible, and solution-oriented

Where you'll work:

  • Hybrid/Long Island City, NY
  • Staff will be working on site in our Long Island City Office 2-3 days/week
