JOB SUMMARY

  • This is a hybrid only role, located in our Bethesda, MD HQ. 

The Senior Manager, Marketing Intelligence supports the business priorities of Marriott’s Marketing organization. This position is an individual contributor and part of a team of marketing analytics experts who are responsible for providing data driven insights and recommendations in support of Marriott’s marketing strategies. As a Marketing Intelligence Senior Manager, the role will contribute to a number of projects, initiatives or analyses within the Marketing realm, with a specific focus on digital marketing.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Math or other quantitative discipline
  • 4 or more years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • 3 or more years extensive experience using data analysis required, including querying and manipulation of billions of records of data, independently structuring analysis and synthesizing large volumes of complex information from multiple sources, synthesizing insights into stellar visualizations, and applying strong knowledge of data modeling and statistical analysis techniques
  • Strong to expert SQL skills and experience integrating large datasets from multiple systems and sources
  • Experience analyzing paid media, digital analytics and email marketing data using ESP or Ad serving data and Adobe Experience Cloud or Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tactics and demonstrated experience analyzing complex, multi-faceted online marketing programs 
  • Excellent project management and verbal and written communication skills required, especially in the context of managing processes and delivering technical analysis across diverse stakeholder set and independently managing multiple projects

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Advanced degree in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, business analytics, engineering etc.
  • Experience manipulating large data sets in Python or R, and visualizing outputs in Tableau is a strong plus
  • Experience in advanced analytic and statistical techniques related multivariate and A/B testing, digital attribution, predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and marketing effectiveness

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Support Marketing Analytics

  • Analyze detailed online behavioral data, enterprise customer data, and transactions data to improve conversion rates and the profitability across Marriott’s digital marketing efforts. 

o Present analysis and reports (scheduled and ad hoc) on the effectiveness of these programs to marketing teams and senior management. 

o Partner with marketing agencies and vendors to integrate additional external data sources and broaden analysis. 

  • Build predictive statistical models to help define Marriott’s online customer acquisition and revenue generation strategies, improve online marketing program ROI, and increase hotel profit. 

o Construct test plans to quantify lift of marketing programs over a control.

  • Sets up and manage program KPIs by designing and implementing comprehensive, measurable testing plans.
  • Synthesizes data to translate results into KPIs for the evaluation of the efficacy of campaign. Partners with Marketing leaders to support their efforts through strategic analysis, tracking performance vs. goals, providing recommendations and insights for future efforts.
  • Conducts deep dive analytics relative to customer acquisition.
  • Develops and present analytical recommendations and actionable insights to disseminate findings and successful practices to key stakeholders and senior management. Explain complex analytics to a broad audience with varying levels of technical background and understanding.
  • Provides project management support including planning, documentation, defining technical processes, prioritization, scheduling, and communications.
  • Helps define technical standards for online marketing analysis and reporting data, including data acquisition, data management, and report development, distribution and maintenance. 

o QA campaign reporting processes, analyses and data models. Ensure that tracking applications are working properly and data is accurate and consistent for analysis.

o Help monitor automated processes for delivering data to marketing systems, and assist internal and 3rd party technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
