POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager, a member of the Global Corporate Services Project Management Office (GCS PMO) will be responsible for managing multiple medium and large-scale projects. Many projects will be in support of a multi-year program focused on modernizing the systems, processes, and data that support the operational foundation of the firm. This role will partner closely with Finance, HR, IT, and other resources to develop program and project strategy, a strategic roadmap, and appropriate governance. The role will lead identified projects from conception to delivery and adoption. The role may also manage various other projects sponsored by Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Marketing. 

Successful candidates will be highly organized self-starters, adept at managing shifting priorities and deadlines in a dynamic and uniquely structured, highly decentralized environment. We seek collaborative individuals who are skilled at facilitating cross-team communication and partnership. Candidates will be skilled at a consultative approach to balancing the needs of leadership, stakeholders, committees, and a variety of internal clients. Flexibility in the application of project management methodologies to each specific initiative is critical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, then manage and execute those project plans ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple medium and large high-complexity projects that involve one or more departments/lines of business to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive creation of project charters to define the scope, goals, deliverables, and measurable business value of a project.
  • Create and maintain additional project documentation, such as business requirements, use cases, gap analyses, design documents, communication plans, test plans, implementation plans, etc.
  • Manage risks and issues, taking action as needed to ensure project success; must have a willingness to escalate.
  • Produce regular status reports with dynamic communication skills to report on progress to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Develop RFPs, conduct vendor evaluation, and vendor selection.
  • Partner with third-party vendors and resources on projects.
  • Define and consistently manage roles and responsibilities within projects, clearly communicating expectations to the project team.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced project managers, and participate in the Project Management CoP (Community of Practice).
  • Leverage strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help project teams analyze and solve complex challenges and obstacles.
  • Provides collaborative insight to Global Corporate Services (GCS) PMO processes, methods, and procedures, helping to expand and mature project management within the team/organization.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related fields.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience, demonstrating growth and advancement in managing increasingly complex and challenging projects.
  • The ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of project management methodologies: waterfall, hybrid, and SDLC.
  • The ideal candidate must have previous experience applying the project management lifecycle from initiation through closure.
  • Must have the familiarity with common project management tools and templates.
  • Must be highly collaborative and team-oriented; able to work with GCS departments, Milliman practices, and vendors, and able to influence and develop strong relationships with individuals spanning many work styles.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to resolve conflict within project teams.
  • Must demonstrate a high emotional intelligence and be able to influence and motivate others without direct authority in order to achieve project goals.
  • Must have the continuous improvement mindset; willing to consistently give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft well-written reports and presentations, and able to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work independently and at times with limited guidance in ambiguous situations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  • Agile/scrum certification.
  • Previous experience in leading projects focused on the implementation or enhancement of ERP, HRIS, and Finance systems, or other major system transformation experience.
  • Previous experience with large-scale process change as well as technological change.
  • Previous experience with change management
  • Previous experience in a professional services environment.

LOCATION:

This is a remote position. The expected application deadline for this job is April 15th, 2024.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $173,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
