EH&B Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist identifies, assesses, obtains and negotiates insurance carrier coverage policies to meet client needs. Provides ongoing support to production teams by gathering and managing information on market practices with regards to general trends, pricing and underwriting policies. Coordinates with producers and account executives to document, evaluate and select insurance carrier coverage quotes.

We will count on you to:

  • Knowledge of products offered by various carries and changes/enhancements in product offerings.
  • Forecasts and confers a basic understanding of changing insurance and market conditions and informs producers, account executives, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.
  • Educate production teams on new market relationships and products, current carrier appetites and carrier personnel changes.
  • Negotiate pricing and coverage terms with underwriters and provide necessary underwriting information by coordinating with producers, account executives and account managers.
  • Organize, summarize, and transmit submissions to market for both new and renewal business.
  • Documents all activities in the system to ensure timely follow up by client, carriers and client team.
  • Maintain proper level of communication and build effective relationships with with clients and prospects, producers, account teams, carriers, and underwriters to provide cohesive client service.

What you need to have: 

  • Knowledge of insurance company operations and underwriting
  • Solid negotiation skills – strong feelings for attitudes, tone and timing
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must have a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn Agency Management and Imaging Systems
  • Must have resident Life & Health license, or obtain within 90 days
