Description

The Director of PMO identifies and leads initiatives to address financial reporting needs, process improvement, technology enhancements and training for the Merchandising, Studio, and Compliance organizations. This role is responsible for producing and delivering financial and operational analysis, scoping, leading and implementing initiatives that enables teams to work more efficiently and predictably resulting in increased quality and decreased costs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • PMO Team Management

    • Provide overall governance, oversight and management of PMO team comprised of Program Manager(s), Projects Manager(s), Operational Excellence Manager(s), Workforce Planner(s), and Analyst(s) Emphasis on building high functioning teams that has influence other departments and external partnerships.

    • Responsible for setting overall direction, strategy and goals for PMO team Accountable for performance and goal achievement of team.

  • Program management of continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

    • Influence the continuous development of long range strategies within Merchandising and Studio organizations. 

    • Establish tech priorities in concert with VP and senior leadership. Works cross-functionally to drive tech improvements across organizations yielding increased productivity, cost savings and enhanced workflow.

    • Effectively implement PMO best practices with an emphasis on optimizing cross functionality by driving the strategic vision and maturing the PMO

    • Provide strategic consulting support and advise leadership on overall planning, prioritization, execution and delivery of projects and initiatives by establishing business priorities and advising on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities. Clarify specific benefits of initiatives to zulily, metrics for measuring and specific monthly improvement goals at beginning of project.

    • Responsible for the annual delivery of cost savings and revenue driving initiatives to impact respective department budgets.

    • Assess various work types within the area to better define criteria and delivery for projects, functional enhancements and standard service offerings. Leads team in identification of resources (people, financial, time, technology, etc..) necessary to execute initiatives and work with stakeholders to obtain those resources.

    • Lead ongoing productivity and efficiency initiatives with focus on sustainable long term cost savings during the annual planning and quarterly forecasting in concert with FP&A.

    • Leads and/or participates in the identification of new technologies and methodologies to support OKRs of growth and an always improving customer experience for internal and external customers.

  • Headcount and Staffing

    • Design develop, and apply a scalable staffing model designed to meet evolving business needs. 

    • Establish and maintain department forecasting models to optimize labor spend.

  • Metrics, Measurement and Analytics

    • Leads daily operations in financial planning and analytics.

    • Creates, drives, and reports financial planning & analysis results to Finance organization, VPs, and executive leadership.

    • Determine measurable key performance indicators and build reports to measure against performance. Ensure timely and accurate metrics are created, maintained and tracked against budgeted goals.

    • Collect and analyze quantitative data in multiple areas of team operations and makes final decision on process improvement recommendations.

    • Initiate, monitor and provide analytical support for efficiency, process improvement, and growth initiatives.

    • Lead team of analysts in design and maintenance of reports based on collected requirements. Work with cross-functional teams maintaining data integrity, while building data tables for future needs.

  • Create and execute training and development programs to improve employee engagement and retention.

Qualifications

  • 10+ leadership with progressively increasing responsibility, including leading teams and leading managers.

  • 5+ years experience in Program Management Environment

  • BA/BS, or MS degree in business or related field preferred

  • Previous experience with project management and/or Lean tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent planning, organizational and time and project management skills.

  • Demonstrable proficiency of Microsoft Office including Excel, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to deep dive/analyze data and draw conclusions leading to improvement initiative recommendations.

  • Strategic leader with the ability to lead and drive an organization focused on internal and external partnerships.

  • Strong written, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to communicate effectively across all functions and levels including presenting ideas and financial analysis to senior management

  • Willingness to speak up even in the midst of adversity.
  •  Ability to travel
