In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Digital Delivery Advanced Manufacturing (AM) and work together with the Project Delivery teams and the Manager(s) of Engineering to help guide the development and execution of systems and work processes across all disciplines and projects.

This will include being the central point of contact for technology and software, including Autodesk, Hexagon, and Bentley platforms within the Specialized Manufacturing business unit, and coordinating connections with external business units. You will be responsible for developing people, processes, technology, and tools in advancing our global Digital Delivery agenda that will continuously improve discipline performance, deliverable quality, and user expertise.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scoping

  • Manages applying all BIM/Digital Delivery technologies within Specialized Manufacturing, aligning them with internal and client goals.
  • Consults during preliminary bidding and business development to assess necessary applications/tools for client projects and defines the digital delivery scope for project estimates.
  • Coordinates project technical setup and model deliverables in accordance with project scope and client standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, representatives, and contractors to manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technology expectations.
  • Function as the bid digital capture manager, driving cost reductions through innovative applications.
  • Determine project tool selection and technology during the pursuit phase, ensuring adherence to internal and client-specific goals.

Project Execution

  • Develop, implement, and oversee Specialized Manufacturing standard operating procedures to enhance engineering and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead the management of design methodologies and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout projects.
  • Coordinate project kickoff meetings and facilitate BIM Project Execution Planning Meetings.
  • Create comprehensive BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for both individual projects and client alliances.
  • Knowledge of the project schedules to validate and monitor the Level of Detail (LOD) Matrix based on the project requirements.
  • Serve as a BIM Subject Matter Expert, guiding teams according to the BIM Project Execution Plan and resolving software and user-related issues.
  • Prepare and facilitate model reviews with clients to align projects with expectations and standards.
  • Proactively identify and report software issues, hardware needs, and licensing/seat capacity concerns to the IT department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce CAD and BIM standards aligning with engineering and design workflows, ensuring project consistency and efficiency.

Technology Deployment

  • Coordinate software delivery with Business Technology Services and IT, ensuring alignment with Jacobs standard workflows and processes.
  • Manage design team software upgrades in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan and report breakdowns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Improve software and workflow efficiency using automation and API tools.
  • Curate Jacobs' content libraries, including AM Digital Delivery Processes, Standard Site, and SmartPlant HUB.

Talent Management, Development, & Training

  • Develop training materials and offer technical guidance to staff, peers, and clients.
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs, initiating proactive training interventions as needed.
  • Take an active role in recruiting, managing, and mentoring employees, collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance team expertise.
  • Provide expertise and support in recruiting subject matter experts to educate team members and promote continuous learning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline 
  • At least 8 years of project management or BIM management/coordination experience
  • Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics and a proven history of successfully leading project design/delivery teams to meet client expectations.
  • Attributes that include good oral and written communication, self-motivation, collaborative work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem solving, and a strong organizational approach.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that result in creating and procuring new and repeat consulting work.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to help grow and mentor team members. 
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with internal architectural and engineering team members, clients, and sales groups.
  • Must display enthusiasm, motivation, and be goal-oriented.
  • Understanding of Integrated Project Delivery, Lean Construction, Sustainability, 4D Construction, and Advanced Work Package Concepts and Methods is desired but not required.
  • AutoCAD, Revit,3D Modeling, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, Revizto, Smart Plant 3D preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and produce results within the deadline.
