Job Summary:

About the Role & Program

The Brand Strategy team develops comprehensive and relevant brand & franchise strategies that drive business across the enterprise globally! We work with business units around the world to identity growth opportunities and challenges, formulate strategies to pursue opportunities, and measure key outcomes.

Our team is comprised of strategists who deploy a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods across all of our projects. A few examples:

  • Provide thought leadership to the Chief Brand Officer on the state of our brands and franchises and key opportunities for growth
  • Support business unit leadership by identifying key business drivers and areas for continued improvement
  • Develop brand and franchise growth strategies for specific markets and consumer segments
  • Size potential for new business opportunities

What You Will Do

  • Lead workstreams and small projects, with support from team leaders
  • Provide strategic support on projects such as developing hypotheses, and developing and measuring success criteria
  • Develop strategy and story-driven business decks based on data and insights
  • Conduct analysis and run calculations on quantitative recommendations – e.g., calculating size of market or size of opportunity
  • Present findings and work with partners to answer important business questions

Example Projects:

  • Engage in thought leadership by articulating the opportunities for growth with a specific demo (e.g., kids 6-11) and recommended actions
  • Analyze core business questions such as: What products drive the Disney brand? Who are our fans? What is the size of the preschool entertainment market?
  • Articulate strength of various TWDC IP, including what elements resonate with consumers

Required Qualifications & Skills

Industry-relevant experience, as defined by one or more of the following:

  • Strategic or Management Consulting at a premier management consulting firm
  • Strategy and Business Development within a media, technology or consumer packaged goods company
  • Brand management or marketing in consumer-focused company (not B2B)
  • Franchise management

Additional Required Skills

  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Ability to draw business insights from data and interpret real world application
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to implement quality work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously
  • Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Maturity and enthusiasm

Education

  • A current student or recent graduate pursuing a Master's of Business Administration degree

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June - August 2024
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • This internship is a primarily on-site position -- Required to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Burbank, CA area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.

The pay rate for this internship in California is $41.40 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
